Today’s Commit Spotlight Is…

2028 OF Norie Umene Stays Close to Home with Her Commit This Week to Pacific

Norie Umene, a 2028 outfielder from Concord, Calif. who plays for the Universal – Macias club team and is a junior at Carondelet High, has committed to the University of Pacific, which located in Stockton, Calif., about an hour from home for the talented player.

Strong in the classroom with a 3.89 GPA and a talent on field, Norie’s game is built around athleticism, speed, on-base consistency, and aggressive defense.

She makes an impact in a variety of ways including getting on base regularly, stretching hits for extra bases, stealing bags, getting gap-to-gap extra-base hits, robbing home runs, and making difficult plays in the gaps.

During her freshman and sophomore seasons at Carondelet High, Norie earned All-League honors while competing at the varsity level.

She has also represented Team Philippines in the Triple Crown International Challenge for the past two years and was invited to attend the USA Softball High-Performance Program (HPP) National Selection Event in 2025.

In addition to her athletic accomplishments, Norie has earned a 2nd-degree black belt in Kajukenbo, a hybrid, street-focused mixed martial art.
