You have to give credit to Maci Baney, ranked #20 overall in the 2028 HOT 100 and her Rogue FC 16U – Voak/Malgradi team based out of Charleston, South Carolina, for coming up with a fun and clever way to raise money to cover the players’ and team’s expenses for this year.

Maci and her family are running the Rubber Duck Race which will take place at the team’s headquarters next Sunday (Sept. 27). The entry deadline is this Friday (Sept. 25).

Not only is Maci an impressive marketing and fundraising whiz, she’s also a darn good softball player as a 6-foot-1 pitcher and utility player who carries a 4.84 GPA as well!

How does the actual Rubber Duck Race work?

An individual “duck nomination” of $20 gets each participant a unique number on the rubber duck and 15 final prizes will be awarded with a total of $975 in this order: 1st = $200 · 2nd = $150 · 3rd = $100 · 4th–5th = $75 each · 6th–10th = $50 each · 11th–15th = $25 each.

And, even if you don’t win, you’ve done a great service in helping a talented club team offset some of its costs for the next year.

Businesses can also tie in with several sponsorship packages, too.

For example, the $1,000 team sponsorship includes a logo on the back of practice/travel shirts, a 5×7 team photo, and sponsor social posts twice monthly beginning upon receipt.

The $2,000 package adds a jersey-sleeve logo.

• Individual support: $20 per numbered duck, with a chance to win cash. Maci’s initial goal is 20 ducks, and additional entries are welcome.
