In time, we will do just one Master Commit Spreadsheet update per week—it’s usually just on Sundays—but we have a ways to go before we abandon the current Wednesday updates as well.

Even though we’ve had over 1,000 player commits since Sept. 1—the start of the live recruiting period for the Class of 2028 players—we have many current juniors and also numerous 2027 or high school seniors that are still uncommitted as of today.

This week we had about 75 new commits from those classes and there are still numerous 2028’s—including many in our 2028 HOT 100—who are still on the market.

So keep checking in twice a week—Sundays and Wednesdays, currently—to find out the outstanding softball players who have finalized their college choice~!

Today’s spotlight standout softball player is

Curry, the 2028 third baseman/catcher from Oklahoma who competes on Ryan and Taylor Taylor’s Aces 18U team and who will stay close to home—about an hour drive—as she has committed to play for Tulsa University.

A two-sport athlete who also runs track, she had a tremendous sophomore season at Pawhuska (Okla.) High as she had 75 at-bats in 30 games and batted .640 with a .750 on-base percentage and a 2.097 OPS.

Emillie was a dangerous power-hitter as she crushed 12 home runs, had 35 RBIs, scored 56 runs, walked 29 times (do you think pitchers were pitching carefully to her?… that’s almost one walk per game) and with just one strikeout all season.

The recruit was impressed with new head coach D.J. Gasso, the son of OU Sooners Head Coach Patty Gasso, who was hired in June to be the seventh head coach in the Golden Hurricanes history.

How did he become aware of Emillie, we asked her?

“He watched my travel ball team over the summer and called me on Sept. 1.”

The prolific power hitter was offered on her trip and then committed on Wednesday, Sept. 30.

“I called and told him over the phone (that she was committing).”

And what was it about the American Athletic Conference program she liked enough to commit, we asked Emillie?

“I love the coaches and the school is beautiful,’ she responded.

According to the junior infielder, Coach Gasso and his staff “love the energy I bring to the field and the power I have when hitting the ball.”

As for a major at Tulsa, Emillie is thinking going onto Physical Therapy to work with both adults and children, but she’s going to play softball as long as she can.

“I love the competition and friendships I have made,” she concludes.
