Triple Crown Colorado (TC Colorado) announced today that accomplished travel ball head coach Randy Gale will be bringing his 18 Gold Firecrackers team into the organization.
“Coach Gale’s team will be an addition to our already existing 18 Gold roster coached by Krista Crawford and our 16 & Under roster coached by Katrina Magaro,” the release noted.
The team’s name will be “TC Colorado Gale 18 Gold” moving forward and will continue to be based in Firestone, Colo. as one of four teams in TC Colorado along with TC Colorado 18 Gold – Crawford, TC Colorado 16 & Under – Magaro and TC Colorado Women’s – King (led by Dave King, the founder of Triple Crown Sports in 1982).
Gale brings in a deep bench of talented travel ball athletes for his own squad.
“We have four committed players and some top talent returning,” Gale told Line Drive Softball this afternoon about his returning lineup which ranges in ages from 2025 grads down to a pair of standout 2028’s.
The committed players include the Pearson sisters, infielders Mackenzie and Victoria Pearson, who are high school seniors committed to Div. II Metro State University in Denver, and fellow 2025 grads Jesse Nichols and Danielle Duran, who will play at Washburn, a DII school in Topeka, Kansas.
Headlining the talented underclass group is 2026 infielder Julia Savage, who slugged 31 home runs last season for Gale’s team and is being heavily recruited by Power 4 programs.
The pitching should be solid once again with the return of uncommitted 2025 hurler Payton Torres, who went 19-4 this year against some of top teams in country, and new addition Kianna Butler, a top uncommitted senior pitcher considered one of the best in Colorado.
The former baseball player’s teams have perennially faced a strong nationally competitive schedule including 2024 events such as the Triple Crown Sports (TCS) Nationals, the Alliance Nationals and the Top Club Nationals, where the 18U-aged team finished 11th.
Both sides see the merger as being a great move to help each other.
“This partnership will give more athletes in the region an opportunity to be part of an organization with a long-standing record of competing at the highest level,” a spokesman for TC Colorado added.
“Bringing in Coach Gale and his team will make an immediate impact for TC Colorado and continue to elevate a tradition of success.”
