The  2028 Line Drive HOT 100 Player Rankings starts a week from Monday and the DEADLINE to submit player nominations is this Monday, Aug. 17.

For those nominating players, please submit no later than Monday @ midnight EST; 9 pm PST.

So–players and parents–remind your club and/or high school coaches, personal trainers or anyone else who can vouch for your abilities to send in a nomination by those times above.

Already this year we’ve done extensive looks at the Class of 2031, the Class of 2030 and, most recently, the Class of 2029 which wrapped up earlier this summer.

Coming in 2027…

We’ve had a HUGE level of interest expressed about when the classes for the 2027 calendar year will be released… with that in mind, here’s the schedule for next year released for the first time:

• 2032 Line Drive HOT 100: Jan. 11 to Jan. 22, 2027
• 2031 Line Drive HOT 100: Mar. 15 to Mar. 26, 2027
• 2030 Line Drive HOT 100: May 10 to May 21, 2027
• 2029 Line Drive HOT 100: Aug. 16 to Aug. 27, 2027
• 2028 Line Drive HOT 100: Oct. 4 to Oct. 15, 2027

2028 Line Drive HOT 100 Schedule (Aug. 24 – Sept. 4)

Each weekday for a two-week period, we will honor deserving prospects via our countdown of 10 spots each day following this schedule:

• #’s 100-91 (Mon., Aug. 24, 2026)
• #’s 90-81 (Tue., Aug. 25, 2026)
• #’s 80-71 (Wed., Aug. 26, 2026)
• #’s 70-61 (Thu., Aug. 27,  2026)
• #’s 60-51 (Fri., Aug. 28, 2026
• #’s 50-41 (Mon., Aug. 31, 2026)
• #’s 40-31 (Tue., Sept. 1, 2026)
• #’s 30-21 (Wed., Sept. 2, 2026)
• #’s 20-11 (Thu., Sept. 3, 2026)
• #’s 10-1 (Fri., Sept. 4, 2026)

A couple of pointers for those filling out the nominations online:

• Parents: remember that you can send stats, honors, and top accomplishments but nominations must come from a club/high school coach, trainer or someone else who works with the athlete.
• Be sure to send a head shot to accompany player bios. Action photos are welcome too.
• Identify which city and state the player lives… use state codes such as TX, FL, AZ, etc.

What’s Next?

Following the Class of 2028 rankings, the Class of 2027 will follow… the final time we’ll evaluate this group which will be next year’s seniors.

The 2027 Line Drive HOT 100 will run from Oct. 12 to Oct. 23, 2026 and  nominations will officially open on Sept. 15 with the deadline being Oct. 5.

The Line Drive Hot 100 is spearheaded by Line Drive Media Executive Editor Brentt Eads, who began the softball player and team rankings format 20+ years ago and in that time has done over 50 grad class rankings.

Each class is updated several times leading up to the players’ high school graduation and transition into college.
