UCLA-bound RHP Addisen Fisher was named the 2024 Gatorade National Softball Player of the Year, Gatorade announced on Wednesday.
The 5-foot-11 senior from Bend High, Ore., is the seventh student athlete in UCLA history — Megan Faraimo (2018), Bubba Nickles (2016), Rachel Garcia (2015), Paige McDuffee (2011), Anjelica Selden (2004) and Amanda Freed (1998) — to win the prestigious Gatorade National Softball Player of the Year Award.
“This is a picture-perfect ending,” Fisher told KVTZ News Channel 21. “I couldn’t picture anything better to end my senior year than winning state with this awesome team and winning this award. It’s so crazy.”
Fisher, a three-time PGF High School All-American, is a three-time winner of the Gatorade Oregon State Player of the Year (2021, 2023, 2024). She will be the 9th National Gatorade Player of the Year to compete in the PGF High School All-American game.
Fisher completed her high school career with an extremely successful senior season, leading Bend to a OSAA Class 5A state championship.
She went 20-2 with a 0.36 ERA, 10 shutouts, five no-hitters and four perfect games. As a high school senior, Fisher had 261 strikeouts and 18 walks in 134.2 innings. She also batted .667 with 17 HRs and 40 RBIs.
Fisher will play for NW Bullets-Campos travel ball this summer and compete in the PGF 18U Premier Nationals…
