Recruiting Spotlight: 2027 Infielder Kerri Langfitt… “Playing the Sport I Love at My No. 1 Choice!”

Kerri Langfitt and her parents after committing to Coastal Carolina earlier this month.

What’s not to love about Coastal Carolina University?

If you’re an outdoors type, the school is in a beautiful coastal town just 15 minutes from Myrtle Beach and if you love softball – which high junior Kerri Langfitt really does – the Chanticleers softball team went 42-19 this year and won the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Championship.

Kerri, who lives three hours north of the D1 university, recently committed to Head Coach Kelley Green’s rising program and looks to continue the team’s success…

Here’s more on this 2027 HOT 100 player who’s one of the best infielders on the East Coast…

 *****

When did you officially commit? Monday, November 10, 2025.

How did you do it and where? In my car after school on the phone.

What factors were key in your choice?  The softball program/staff, campus location and size, academic fit and campus atmosphere.

Did you do anything to celebrate the big decision?  Dinner at Outback that night, filling up my Amazon cart with Coastal gear and shopping in Myrtle Beach and the campus store the following week.

Did you take official visits?  I had an unofficial visit on campus on November 17, 2025.

What did your future coaches say they like about your game enough to offer you? They have watched me grow over the last two years and have seen me play various positions.  They see even more potential in my abilities and seek to develop players on and off the field.

Have they (college coaches) said how they see using you once you’re on campus? I am a versatile player, so they can utilize me in various positions.

What, in your opinion, are 1-3 of your biggest softball accomplishments?  My biggest accomplishment is working through tweaks for hitting and/or fielding and seeing it play out on the field.

Anything else you’d like to add about this exciting event? I give thanks to God for my talent and am so excited I have this opportunity to play the sport I love at my No. 1 choice!
