18U: GEORGIA IMPACT PREMIER-TAYLOR, SO CAL ATHLETICS 26 PREMIER-KENNEDY, LADY DUKES-LAMAR & ATHLETICS GOLD TAMBORRA SHARE 18U TITLE

Georgia Impact Premier-Taylor, So Cal Athletics 26 Premier-Kennedy, Lady Dukes-Lamar and Athletics Gold Tamborra all reached the Final Four, the semifinals were unable to be played due to weather so they finished as four-way co-champions on Sunday at Lost Mountain Park.

Florida-bound OF Shayla Bahr (7 for 13, 2 doubles, 1 HR, 5 runs), Auburn-bound OF Cece Springfield (5 for 10, 1 double, 2 HRs, 6 RBIs), LSU-bound RHP Addie Rackley (8 for 12, 3 doubles, 3 HRs, 9 RBIs) and Auburn-committed 2027 MIF/3B Jenna Rapp (5 for 10, 1 HR, 5 runs) were the leaders for Georgia Impact Premier-Taylor.

“Unfortunate that the weather ended the tournament,” Georgia Impact coach Kip Taylor said. “We were looking forward to competing against some more great teams to help us prepare for PGF next week. Proud of how the girls have played all year and looking forward to next week!”

The So Cal Athletics pitching staff of Louisiana-bound Emily Adams, Troy-bound Ellie Cox and South Alabama-bound Emily Needham had a great weekend, combining for 25 Ks and giving up just 14 runs. Jones Junior College-bound Ella Robertson, Southern Alabama-bound Emily Maddox, Florida Gulf Coast-bound Taya Newton, Southern Miss-committed 2027 Sadie Foote and South Alabama-committed 2027 Mylee Stagner all hit homers for the So Cal A’s. Robertson (.500 AVG) and Maddox (.455 AVG) were the leading hitters for the So Cal A’s.

“We would have loved to play it out until the end, but sometimes mother nature has different plans,” So Cal A’s coach Joel Kennedy said. “I think the best decision was made given the circumstances. There was a lot of lightning and wind from these intense cells and there was no reason to continue to wait it out given the potential for danger. All in all, we had a great weekend and I thought the (Atlanta) Legacy staff did what they could to make it work. If this was not my last year coaching, I would certainly be coming back next year.”
