16U-14U GOLD: IOWA PREMIER NATIONAL-DICKEL/SHANNON 10, HOTSHOTS NATIONAL-FALTERMAN 3
#15 Iowa Premier National-Dickel/Shannon took down Hotshots National-Falterman, 10-3, in the 16U/14U Gold bracket championship game of the Summer Games 2026 at OKC on Thursday at Firelake Ball Fields in Shawnee, OK.
Louisiana Monroe-committed 2027 MIF Kylee Wyman went 3 for 4 with a double, two runs and two RBIs, 2028 MIF/3B Tommi Ewing went 3 for 4 with two doubles, a homer and four RBIs and Drake-committed 2027 1B/OF Allison Haag went 2 for 3 with a homer and two RBIs to lead Iowa Premier in the finals.
Iowa Premier’s pitching staff led the way for the tournament with a 1.909 ERA and .219 BAA. 2028 RHP Ella Baird led the way in both those categories with a 0.82 ERA and a .138 BAA to go along with 17 strikeouts in 17 innings.
Wyman (.500 AVG, 2 HRs, 11 RBIs), 2028 OF Gianna Dasenbrook (.444 AVG, 12 hits, 7 runs) and Ewing (.385 AVG, .808 SLG, 9 RBIs) were Iowa Premier’s offensive leaders for the tournament.
“This was our first year coming to OKC Summer Games and we enjoyed the event and venue,” Iowa Premier coach Paige Shannon said. “What stands out the most to our coaching staff is how much success we were having across the team. All of our pitchers threw very well and 75 percent of our hitters hit above .350 for the (tournament). In the semifinal game, every single hitter recorded a hit. When you have results up and down the lineup and pitchers who are commanding the zone, it’s hard not to be successful as a team.
“This is exactly what you want to see as a coach, especially going into Colorado and the rest of our summer schedule. The team is grooving together. It takes depth to win these events and beat these teams and our girls leaned into doing their job when they were called on and that led to our success this weekend — (you) can’t ask for much more as coaches and as a team!”
Iowa Premier National-Dickel/Shannon defeated Epic National-Flynn, 7-4, OC Batbusters-Maroon/JS, 5-0, and Hotshots National-Falterman, 10-3, in bracket games.
Hotshots National-Falterman beat Top Gun National, 8-5, Buzz Gold, 9-3, and lost to Iowa Premier National-Dickel/Shannon, 10-3, in bracket games.
