Coming Soon: The Line Drive SUPER 70 High School Team Rankings Returns! (Mar. 1, 2026)

Megan Beemer, now a freshman at Michigan, helped Hudsonville High to a 42-0 season and a final No. 14 ranking in the final SUPER 70.

Each week, more and more high school softball teams across the nation are taking the field—primarily in Texas, California and Southern states such as Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana.

With the return of prep play, Line Drive will once again present our Line Drive SUPER 70 High School Rankings starting on Wednesday, March 11—a week from this Wednesday.

The rankings, as done once again by Mark Tennis of Cal-Hi Sports, will be compiled and released according to the following schedule:

  • Week 2: March 25
  • Week 3: April 8 (will be the week following the Michelle Carew Classic in Calif.)
  • Week 4: April 22
  • Week 5: April 29 (starting on this date, the ranking will weekly through the end of season)
  • Week 6: May 6
  • Week 7: May 13
  • Week 8: May 20

*****

Cassie and Caign Crabtree in the Melissa (Texas) High dugout last summer.

Melissa High, a small town of about 25,000 residents with an hour’s drive from Dallas, was a juggernaut last year losing just once and Head Coach Cassie Crabtree was named as the 2025 Line Drive National High School Coach of the Year.

The team was led by Coach Crabtree’s daughter Caigan a 5-foot-11 athletic shortstop who is now a freshman at the University of Texas.

Can Melissa High repeat as the No. 1 team in the country?

We’ll find out over the next several months if the Cardinals have enough firepower returning or if another team from within the Lonestar State or across the nation in states such as Alabama, Arizona, California and Florida, can finish on top!
