Two of the most talented and accomplished high school-aged softball players in Louisiana just happen to live under the same roof.
That’s because they’re sisters:
Today and tomorrow, we’ll spotlight these accomplished siblings and get a little peek into how they love each other… but in the next breath aren’t afraid to playfully, verbally tease the other!
In Part I today, we focus on Allie, the youngest of the siblings, who has been All-District twice in softball and also plays basketball along with Kylee at Doyle High in Livingston, La.
Allie is open in her expression of love of her sisters, softball and her impressive shoe collection, but there is some inner-family disagreement when it comes to the very serious question of who is funniest… read on to see what we mean!
In Part I (today), we feature the Allie and, tomorrow in Part II, we’ll get Kylee’s perspective…

I have a lot of range at second base because of how tall and shifty I am.

Yes, my goals this year are to have a .425 batting average in high school and also get 1st team All Parish or just more awards in general.

On the field clutch, and off the field hilarious!

Colorado… it feels amazing up there!
What’s the biggest obstacle you’ve had to overcome in life?
Having a coach not believe in me. It was a rough year for my 8th grade year but it made me mentally tougher and also took my work ethic to another level.

My want to win. I’m a very competitive person and I really want to play at the next level.
Finally, what’s one thing or accomplishment about you that is unusual or unique which few know (until now)?

With my Mawmaw Jackie or my Uncle Jude… both of them have passed away.

LSU’s white uniform because it looks clean.

*****
So… who’s the better softball player: you or Kylee (and why)?
Me and Kylee are two very different softball players; she’s a catcher and I’m a middle infielder so you really can’t compare us because we have two different jobs on the softball field…. But, of course, me 😂
What do you admire about your sister’s softball game?
I love how much of a leader she is on the field, she always knows what’s going on, and she holds everyone accountable, she’s very vocal on the field and always in control because she’s a catcher.
How do you feel you’re similar and different in your play compared to Kylee?
We’re similar because of our work ethic and our love for the game and we’re different because, when it comes to softball, we have two different roles to play on the field as I’m a middle infielder and Kylee is a catcher.
Has having a talented older sister athletic made it easier on you coming up? Or harder?
I would say both because it made it easier having her because I knew what to expect and I always had someone by my side. But it also made it harder because since Kylee was so good they expected a lot out of me, and I was always held to a higher standard because of Kylee.
If I’ve never been to Livingston, Louisiana, tell me what it’s like where you are growing up…
It’s a small town everyone knows everyone, it’s a sports-based town, and lots of local support.
Where did the dual love of hoops and softball come from in your family?
Both mom and dad played both sports growing up so they put us in both softball and basketball and we go to a small school so we have the opportunity to play both.
One thing you wouldn’t be caught dead doing…
Striking out looking.
Would you like to someday play with Kylee in college or prefer to forge your own path?
This year will be my last year playing softball with Kylee, so I think it would be pretty cool if I went to LSU and played one more year with my big sister!
Your proudest accomplishment in sports?
Starting varsity in 7th grade and hitting my first home run and also winning a tournament in Las Vegas.
Your proudest accomplishment off the athletic fields…
All of my academic accomplishments I’ve been president of beta and 4-H before, and I have been a part of student council many times
Finally, who’s funnier… you or Kylee?
We are definitely going to have to agree to disagree on this one, but I would have to go with me.
Kylee only thinks she’s funny because she gets her jokes from me and because she’s a little slower than others, but I will definitely have Kylee beat in this category… I’m definitely funnier! (laughs)
