One of the pluses at being at the Tampa Blaze Jamboree over the weekend was seeing current standout recruits—we’ll have an interview posted soon with Lolo Gamble, the Texas-bound senior catcher—as well as those who should be watched closely over the few years as budding stars.

One of those we saw this weekend is 2029 first baseman Macee Walters, who plays on the Blaze 16U – Robertson team.

The sophomore standouts out because of her 6-foot-1 size and then when you see her hit, you know she’s the real deal.

In the spring, we had her ranked in the 2029 HOT 100 in the 81-90 range but you can be sure that she’ll climb higher in the next rankings update for that class.

Here’s how the bio read when released in March of this year:

T-84—Macee Walters, IF, Texas Blaze United 14U – Cain
Macee is a 6-foot-1 first baseman with tremendous power at the plate and has an exit velocity which has been clocked upwards of 80 mph. Head Coach Caitlyn Cain adds: “We expect Macee to continue to grow into her tall frame and end up being one of the top power hitters in the country.” Her numbers last year were strong: a .341 batting average with a .474 on-base percentage and a 1.013 OPS. For her grade, Macee was also listed in the Top 20 on the OnDeck Measurements leaderboard. Coach Cain continues: “Macee comes from a very athletic family with a great support system as her mom, Becky, was the C-USA Freshman of the Year at the Univ. of Cincinnati and, like her mother, the younger athlete is experienced in volleyball and pays with the Austin (Texas) Juniors volleyball team where her mother coaches. Becky was also a member of the Austin Juniors in 2001 and helped her team win an 18 Open Bronze Medal.

You can bet that colleges know her very well; Macee has been to multiple camps and elite programs such as Oklahoma and UCLA are asking her to return to their camps.
