P Aaliyah Hayes allowed three hits and one walk while striking out 14 in 7.0 innings to record the shutout victory as Birmingham Thunderbolts Premier 2030-Wilkerson defeated Atlanta Vipers 20120Patterson, 1-0, in the 12U Premier championship game of the PGF Super Select Fall Championship on Sunday at Ridley Sports Complex in Columbia, TN.

Hayes (.467 AVG, 7 RBIs), 3B Jaz Skanes (.706 AVG, 6 RBIs), C Lily Poland (.600 AVG, 6RBIs), P Emmy Kate (.683 AVG), SS Lizzie Johnson (.526 AVG,6 RBIs), RF Rosie Wilson (.500 AVG, 5 RBIs), and 2B Ansley Wilkerson (.455 AVG, 5 RBIs) were the Bolts’ standouts for the tournament.

The Bolts outscored their opponents 59-7 with three shutouts and went 7-0 for the tournament. They had a team fielding percentage of .967 with five double plays and four errors for the tournament.

10U PREMIER: ATHLETICS GOLD TAMBORRA 2014-SCHILLER 6, BIRMINGHAM THUNDERBOLTS PREMIER 2032-COTTON 2

2032 P Dakota Jones walked two and struck out eight to record the victory and she went 2 for 3 at the plate to lead Athletics Gold Tamborra 2014-Schiller to a 6-2 victory over Birmingham Thunderbolts Premier 2032-Cotton in the 10U Premier championship game of the PGF Super Select Southern Fall Championship on Sunday at Ridley Sports Complex.

“I was most impressed with my team’s ability to adjust to a very good pitcher with a very good change-up,” AGT coach Carey Schiller-Jones said. “They came back and got some huge hits and adjusted after (the) first at-bat. They really secured extra runs to support our pitcher and played as a team very well. This is an incredibly talented team … one special group … teams like this don’t come around often and I’m very proud. Birmingham Bolts are a great, well-coached team with good pitching and hitting as well. No doubt we will see them in many championship games in future.”

2032 C Kendall Prickett went 1 for 3 with two walks and an RBI, 2032 C/3B Caroline Edwards went 1 for 3 with two RBIs and 2032 2B Mattie Goodwin went 2 for 3 to lead AGT’s offense in the finals.

The pitching staff, which featured 2032 P Collins Printup and 2032 P Emery Koester, was stellar for AGT throughout the tournament. Jones had 17 in 11 innings, Printup had 13 strikeouts in 6.0 innings and Koester had 12 strikeouts in 4.2 innings.

2032 CF Tatum Rosario (.800 AVG), Goodwin (.769 AVG), Prickett (.700 AVG), Jones (.583) and Edwards (.538 AVG) were the top hitters for AGT for the tournament.

AGT outscored its opponents, 57-10, in six games and only had five errors in the tournament.
