A week ago today—Monday, October 26—I was visited Lubbock, Texas, and was able to spend part of the day with Texas Tech head coach Gerry Glasco and his staff, including being given a personal tour by the coach himself of the impressive complex and stadium.
I was also fortunate to interview Coach Glasco and some players, the video clips of which we’ll post in the next few weeks.
Some background info: the current Red Raiders head coach took over in June 2024 and in the two years since has helped the school reach unparalleled heights.
In the last two years, Texas Tech has finished with records of 54-14 and 61-10 (a school record) behind the standout pitching of NiJaree Canady and both seasons captured the Big 12 title and advanced to the Women’s College World Series, where the team finished as runners-up to the University of Texas both times.
Not too bad, a combined D1 record of 115-24 for Coach Glasco who a quarter century ago started the Southern Force travel organization in Illinois and was head coach of the 18U team from 2001 to 2008.
His tenure as a club coach was highlighted in 2004 when his 18U team won the ASA Gold national championship and was named the National Coaching Staff of the Year.

Below are recorded clips of the tour through the complex and stadium that Coach Glasco kindly took me on. The different segments are presented in the order they were shot.
A huge thanks to the head coach and his staff, who were very gracious in giving their time with me…
