As expected, this month has exploded with verbal commits for the 2028 class ever since Sept. 1 when the live recruiting period started for current juniors.

So much so, that in the last four days, we’ve come across 130 commits!

It’s a wonderful time to see so many dreams come true and we know of at least 3 major P4 commits expected to be announced later today!

Here’s a couple of those more in detail…

One happy camper who finalized her college choice recently was Landyn Smith, a 2028 outfielder with Team NC – Hinde who committed to Wofford.

She attends High Point Christian Academy, a five-time North Carolina state champ, and is another great example of players who get that “gut feeling” that a future school is where they should be going.

Here’s what Landyn had to say:

“I chose Wofford because as soon as I stepped on campus it felt like home.”

“Coach Chelsea (Butler), Coach Taylor (Liguori), and Coach (John) Winters immediately made me fall in love with Wofford softball and the beautiful campus.”

“Everything about Wofford was exactly what I was looking for and I couldn’t me more happier with where God led me!”

“Go Terriers!!!!”

But there were a handful of 2028’s who committed BEFORE Sept. 1 and one of those was Shylee Orr, a catcher/third baseman with Oklahoma Athletics – Madded who her verbal to the Colorado School of Mines on July 3, 2026.

Here’s what Shylee told Line Drive Media’s Brentt Eads about why this was a “dream come true” for her:

“Colorado School of Mines has always been a dream for me because, ever since I was little, I wanted to be a Mechanical Engineer.”

“I was often told it would be too hard for me to play softball and do Engineering; then I found out about Mines, where there was a roster full of girls who were living my dream!”

“When I stepped on that field for the first time, I felt right at home and I knew I was going to be surrounded by women who are going to push me to be better not only on the field, but in the classroom as well.”

“Coach Echo-Hawk has been such an amazing person and I can’t wait for her to be my coach. She makes me feel valuable, important and she chose me. I knew from the first camp I went to on June 28, 2025, that this would be my future home if she would have me.”

We’re barely three weeks into the launch of the live recruiting period for the Class of 2028 and we already have 246 juniors committed and listed in our Master Commit Spreadsheet below!

And including 2027’s and others like JC transfers we have close to 500 this month!

Important NOTE!!! We are still getting a heavy number of 2027 and early commits so know we’re covering every class! If you’re one of those, feel free to send in and getting added into our system.
