Brentt Eads

Executive Editor

Brentt has worked in sports media for over 25 years with an expertise in digital and print media and has also done game broadcasting and in-studio analysis over his career.

The native of Columbus, Ohio, received a Bachelor of Arts at Brigham Young University followed by a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing at Loyola Marymount University while on the Robert Zinn Fellowship which entailed him writing business cases that were published in textbooks including his Master’s Thesis titled Prop 48’s Impact on Recruiting.

Brentt’s first position out of grad school was serving as the Publisher of Student Sports Magazine for five years in Torrance, Calif. where he started the company’s online division and managed media and content partnerships with clients including Nike, Reebok, Under Armour, New Balance, Fox Sports, Rivals (Yahoo! Sports) and The Sporting News.

It was here that he first became immersed in fastpitch softball as he started the Student Sports Softball vertical website in partnership with Nike and introduced what would become highly popular in the fastpitch space: Top 100 player and team rankings.

Brentt next served as the Sr. Director of Digital Operations in the High School Division for ESPN at the company’s headquarters in Bristol, Conn. There, he assisted with the ESPN RISE website as well as the Gatorade Player of the Year program, helping nominate and recommend players particularly with his background and contacts in fastpitch softball.

Focusing exclusively on the sport, he began his own website called Full Count Softball while living in Huntington Beach, Calif. The site quickly attracted national attention and led to Brentt being hired by FloSports based in Austin, Texas, in 2015. He started the softball division and served as the General Manager procuring event rights to live stream games, tournaments and championships.

Moving again out on his own, Brentt started Extra Inning Softball in 2018 and helped grow the company to where it became recognized as one of the top websites focusing all its content on girls and women’s fastpitch softball inclusive of youth up through high school, club, college, international and pro.

In January of 2024, he saw another opportunity to elevate the sport to new heights and spearheaded the creation of Line Drive Softball focusing similarly on all ages and levels of the ever-growing sport of fastpitch softball.

Brentt currently lives in Kuna, Idaho, where he moved six years ago after spending nearly 30 years in Southern California.
