What I’m Thankful For This Thanksgiving… 2027 Pitcher/Infielder Kinzie Ivey (Nov. 26, 2024)

Kinzie Ivey is a talented infielder/pitcher from North Carolina.

This week, we are running a series of “What I’m Thankful For” articles from those in the softball community.

Today we hear from one of the top pitchers in the Class of 2027, Kinzie Ivey who is from Randleman, N.C. and was ranked in the 2027 Line Drive HOT 100 that was published in June.

The lefty pitcher throws in the mid-60’s and plays for the Mojo – Sherrill team which recently competed at the Clearwater Fall Classic where we got to use a photo of her in our photo gallery… click HERE to see her pic.

Off the field, Kinzie is a 4.0 student-athlete.

Here’s her thoughts about what she appreciates this Thanksgiving week including her current travel team:

I am forever thankful for the softball community I have around me and I would not be the player and person I am today without them.

In the beginning, softball was just about having fun but over the years it’s become a family with different uniforms!

I am so grateful that Jesus has allowed me to play the game and given me the strength to overcome anything thrown at me. I am so grateful for all the friendships softball has brought to me.

It all started with rec ball where I made friends who went to other schools. If it wasn’t for softball, I don’t know that I would have ever met them. I’m lucky to still call those girls my friend.

Travel softball will always hold a special place in my heart!

Sometimes, with the long trips out of state over the summer, my parents weren’t always able to go but I had my other family to step in and make sure I got some incredible opportunities… I will forever be thankful for them!

School ball was the place where my family could come, and my Grandparents can’t really travel so school ball is where they can watch me play.

I will always be grateful for all the opportunities and memories I have made over the years because of this sport.

Softball may be just a sport to some, but to me it’s the passion, unity and principles that help me to be the best person I can be!
