At the PGF Ultimate Challenge, which took place Halloween weekend in Salinas, Calif., two players who really impressed where pitcher Ayla Tuua with BSC Bengals – Briggs and catcher Karmen Vasquez of the Dirtdogs – Vasquez

On Saturday afternoon, Nov. 1, 2025, the Ayla had just finished a game, and Karmen was getting ready to prepare for an upcoming one when I pulled the two LSU-bound seniors together for a quick interview.

A little over a year ago, Line Drive broke the news that the two Northern Cal 2026’s–who are both ranked in the Top 10 of the final 2026 HOT 100–would be signing with LSU and playing together (click HERE to read that article from Sept. 2024).

This week, that dream becomes closer to reality as the outstanding battery will sign their LOI’s with the Tigers to compete in the SEC next year.

In this fun interview, the duo talks about how their friendship has grown and developed, what their roles are expected to be at LSU and how they’ll get to see each other on a daily basis… and not just at practice!
