When it comes to the verbal commits for the Class of 2028’s since the live recruiting period started late Monday, Sept. 1–just four days ago!–the fun line uttered by the late, great Chris Farly in his comedy classic Tommy Boy  comes to mind:

That’s because we have had a big rush out of the games with top juniors pulling the trigger very quickly on where they want to play at the collegiate level.

Factoring in the many 2028’s who committed before Sept 1, we now have THREE DOZEN juniors committed — you’ll be able to see them all on Sunday when we publish our first Master Commit Database report for the 2026-2027 year.

And this is more than we can remember committing so soon in the process!

Here are the ones that we know of that have finalized their college choices over the last four days and made it public:

… and we also know of commits coming o a Big Ten program that should happen over the weekend and another to an SEC school that will be early next week.

“Holy Schnikes” indeed!

Finally, sharing commit news is one of the favorite parts of my job in softball… indirectly getting to celebrate with these talented athletes who’ve seen their hard work pay off, allowing them to continue playing the sport that they/we love at the next level!

We look forward to not only seeing many more 2028’s commit, but also updating 2027’s who finalize their college choice as well as older players making the move to another school.
