USA Softball News: 2025 HPP National Selection Event Top Performers Announced for U-17, U-16, U-15, U-14 and U-13 Age Divisions (December 30, 2025)

The Top Performers from the 2025 USA Softball High Performance Program (HPP) National Selection Event, presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods, were officially announced Monday (Dec. 29, 2025) by USA Softball, highlighting top-ranked athletes across five age divisions: U-17, U-16, U-15, U-14 and U-13.

These selected athletes advanced through various local HPP Identifiers over the past year, ultimately showcasing their skills through a series of on-field evaluations and metric assessments at the National Selection Event, held in Vero Beach, Florida, from Dec. 4–7.

The 2025 National Selection Event Top Performers list includes 90 athletes from various USA Softball regions across 23 states.

Comprised of 18 athletes per age group, here are the differences in the five age groups:

  • the U-17 division covers five USA Softball regions
  • the U-16 division includes five regions
  • the U-15 division features athletes from eight regions
  • the U-14 division highlights seven regions
  • the U-13 division represents six regions

Athletes were selected based on their skill rankings in various drills, including offense, defense, throwing, hitting, and running.

Those recognized as Top Performers will have the opportunity to be considered for age-specific Junior Women’s National Team rosters that will represent the U.S. at upcoming domestic and international events, including the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-18 Women’s World Cup Group Stage Event and a Top Performers Camp in Oklahoma City, Okla., in June.

Over 300 athletes from across the U.S. participated in the 2025 HPP National Selection Event, showcasing their skills in front of the U.S. Junior Women’s National Team Selection Committee and HPP evaluators, which included U.S. Olympians and professional softball athletes.

Dubbed the Pipeline to the Women’s National Team Program, the HPP was created in 2020 to identify a pool of athletes to train, compete and represent USA Softball in domestic and international competition. The program focuses on providing an equal opportunity for players to showcase their talent while growing the game of softball in the United States.

According to USA Softball:

“The 2025 National Selection Event has been made possible thanks to the generous support of the presenting sponsor, Dick’s Sporting Goods. Additionally, USA Softball would like to acknowledge and thank Franklin, Treasure Coast Sports Commission, Major League Baseball (MLB), Rawlings, Easton and Oakley for sponsoring the event.”
