Paige Vickery, a former Top 50-ranked player who shined at Commerce (Ga.) High where she set several school records, has announced that she’ll be transferring from Anderson Univ. in South Carolina to the Univ. of Indianapolis, both schools competing in the South Atlantic Conference (Div. II)

The infielder/pitcher is heading to Indianapolis with one driving goal in mind: win a national championship.

As the SAC Freshman of the Year in 2024, Paige batted .314 and hit 12 home runs with 53 RBIs. Four of her homers were grand slams and she posted a .634 slugging percentage.

This spring, alternating as a pitcher and infielder, she hit .291 with four home runs and 38 RBIs and sees the move to Anderson as a chance to fulfil a dream, guided with some divine help.

“I am very excited about my new chapter,” she told Line Drive this week.

“Being able to attend the University of Indianapolis and play for coaches like Coach (Melissa) Frost, and Coach Ben (Ferrell)—along with competing with a great group of talented teammates—is exciting, especially for the opportunity to chase and win a national championship.”

“I also look forward the chance to grow as my own person. I told every coach I talked to that God placed this on my hear and now I am following His plan.”

Paige was a star at Commerce High in Georgia where she started all four years on varsity.

She helped lead her team to a runner-up finish in state at Class A and twice make it to the Elite 8. In 2022 she was named as a 1^st Team All-Region selection when she also set school single season records with nine home runs.

She also set a school career records with 21 home runs.

In her prep days, she was ranked as the No. 44 player in her class and as a freshman at Anderson was also twice named as the Player of the Week.

Paige had entered the Transfer Portal in April before finalizing her decision this week.
