Training Instruction: Softball Legend Sierra Romero’s Amazing Success with The 32 Approach App (October 17, 2025)

Sierra Romero has had quite the career in softball—from playing travel ball with the OC Batbusters to being a multi-year All-American for the Michigan Wolverines and now playing professionally in Athletes Unlimited—she’s done it all between the lines.

Sierra’s The 32 Approach program is two years old and already a huge success.

At age 31, she admits she’ll someday soon call it a career as a player, but her connection to the game is all but ensured with her tremendously successful training app series called The 32 Approach which impressively has more than 12 thousand followers on Instagram and calls itself “The #1 Softball Training App in the World.”

And, yes, if it’s not obvious, the No. 32 is the jersey number she wore for the Wolverines and now for her pro team, the Volts. Even her “X” handle is @Sierrajoy32.

The bigger question, though, might be why Sierra saw the need for a training program marketing to up and coming softball players.

“The idea for The 32 Approach was born out of a clear need I saw in youth softball,” she explains.”

“Too many young athletes were missing out on the kind of structured athletic development that’s standard in baseball.”

“While baseball players often have access to advanced training, analytics, and strength programs from an early age, softball players are being left behind, not because of talent, but because of a lack of resources and accessibility.”

“I wanted to change that.

That she’s done with her program that taps into the training expertise of Sierra herself as well as other softball experts including Skylar Wallace who offers speed training; Toni Paisley, pitching instruction and Thomas Summers, her business partner and co-founder who is the speed and conditioning coach for the app.

Together, The 32 Approach cover topics ranging from strength and conditioning to hitting and fielding and even on areas such as mental training.

“The goal was simple,” Sierra continues, “to close that gap and give softball players the same level of development, knowledge, and opportunity.

“The 32 Approach focuses on proper athletic development not just reps or drills, but true training that builds stronger, faster, and smarter athletes. We designed the program to educate players on how to move efficiently, train intentionally, and understand the why behind their development.”

“Because, when athletes understand their body and their game, they perform at a higher level.”

Another key need, she said, was to provide instruction that didn’t cost the thousands of dollars working with trainers and coaches can ring up.

“Just as important, I wanted this to be affordable,” the current Florida resident continues. “Every player deserves access to great coaching and information, regardless of where they live or how much they can spend.”

“That’s why The 32 Approach is built to give athletes as much information, structure, and guidance as possible without the financial barriers that often hold families back.”

“It’s about making elite training accessible and helping the next generation of softball players rise to the same standard of athletic excellence we see in baseball.”

“It was time to put softball players FIRST and we did just that.”

Line Drive is excited to announce we’ll be featuring some of the great video training Sierra and The 32 Approach staff provides.

To kick it off, here are some video clips highlighting what she’s built and why it’s such a great value to show, as Sierra puts it:

“We wanted to show players what it really takes to make it and succeed at the next level by giving them access to elite training at an affordable price.”
