This is Brentt Eads of Line Drive Softball… one of the greatest softball players I’ve been able to follow since her high school and club days is Rachel Garcia, the former Palmdale Highlands (Calif.) High standout who was named the 2015 Gatorade National Softball Player of the Year.

But that wasn’t the end of her softball accomplishments by a long shot.

Rachel would go on to UCLA where she would win a National Championship, be named the NFCA National Player of the Year and then go to have more success at the international and pro levels.

In June, 2016, I had a chance to catch up with Rachel that summer after she redshirting for the season after suffering an on-field knee injury while pitching in a high school game.

However, she would go on to have an explosive freshman season the next spring (2017) when she was named the NFCA Freshman of the Year.

In this video clip, Rachel shares her thoughts on her club days with coaching great Marty Tyson and her time playing with the Corona Angels.

You’ll hear how she was so greatly impacted and taught by Coach Tyson and how she became close with her coach and Angels teammates…
