Throwback Thursday: Video Interview with 2024 PGF Senior High School All-American Game MVP Joie Economides, Now at Stanford (June 19, 2025)

Stanford freshman infiedler Joie Economides

What a year it’s been for Joie Economides, the freshman at Stanford who had a tremendous 2025 season for the Cardinal as she batted .356 with a .503 on-base percentage in 54 games and smacked 15 home runs with 57 RBIs.

The infielder from West Covina, Calif. earned All-Freshman honors in the ACC and was 3rd Team All-Conference.

Last summer, she made a big splash too with her bat, this time in the PGF Seniors All-American Game when she hit a home run estimated to be 230 feet to clear the fence at Bill Barber Park in Irvine, Calif.

It was also the difference in the contest as her West team topped the East squad 2-1.

We had fun with Joie and her teammates after the win which you can see by our video clips from last July…

The PGF Seniors and Futures All-American Games were played Saturday (July 27, 2024) after the 16U and 18U National Champions were crowned (the Mojo-Lewis and Birmingham Thunderbolts – Rocky teams, respectively.

There was one just home run hit between the two games and, wow, was it a “no-doubter!”  Bret Denio of PGF estimated it was 230 feet as the fence at Bill Barber Park in Irvine, Calif. is 220.

That smash was hit in the top of the second inning by Joie Economides, a 2024 graduate signed with Stanford, and ended up being the difference as her West team defeated the East 2-1.

Here’s the clip from the family and you have to LOVE their reactions!

Joie signed with Stanford last November, one of five talented players signed by Head Coach Jessica Allister.

Here’s the bio released at that time on Joie:
