This is Brentt Eads, head of Line Drive Media and I’m excited to share the great news that we have a new key addition to our editorial team.

First, though, some key background on our site’s growth.

Line Drive Media: Bigger & Better Than Ever

Over the last month (October ’26), with our wrapping up of the Line Drive Media 2028 HOT 100, we’ve hit an all-time high in two key metrics:

• total # of subscribers
• total site revenues

To give some context of our brief history:

• 2024 was Year 1 for the site and, though, we had a strong start…
• 2025 saw us nearly double our revenues.
• 2026 has been even better… we surpassed our 2025 revenues by the end of August and are looking to finish 50 percent higher in revenues than all of last year!

Another significant milestone, this time in the social media realm:

… in the last 30 days, we’ve surpassed 1-million-page views for Instagram alone!

Our content has continued to include everything from youth, club, high school, college, international and pro… and everything and anything dealing with fastpitch softball!

Adding Staff Writers & Contributors

Our editorial team in this time has consisted primarily of myself, Carlos Arias and Grace White, who is our social media lead and played collegiate softball at Union University from 2019-2023 as a lefty-hitting first baseman.

Along the way, we’ve had a strong corps of contributing writers and photographers and that’s about to grow bigger and better.

When I started Extra Inning Softball in 2017, I developed a strong team of editorial contributors that included Carlos, Justin McLeod—who now runs D1Softball, and Roger McAfee, who I’m happy to say is back working with me/us again!

You may have noticed Roger’s name on the article he wrote on Monday titled:

Recruiting Spotlight: Culture and Trust Lead Pitcher Tara Tarnowski—Ranked No. 4 Overall in the 2028 HOT 100—to Missouri (Sept. 28, 2026)

I’m very excited to be working side-by-side with Roger who, in my opinion, is the ultimate editorial professional, is well connected and knows the game backwards and forwards.

Here’s just a short list of some of his accomplishments in sports over the last two decades:

• Graduate of the University of Idaho with a degree in Telecommunications
• Career over 20 years working in media relations
• Worked for USA Softball and Extra Inning Softball
• Served as the Press Conference Moderator at the Women’s College World Series
• Hired as a writer during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics

On the collegiate level, along with his softball experiences, Roger has also worked:

• the Men’s Final Four (basketball),
• various NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournaments,
• the NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Tournament,
• the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Tournament,
• the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament and
• the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championship

To put it mildly, the dude knows his college sports with a strong affinity towards the one we love the most…

“I love the game of softball,” he says, “and enjoy being able to tell the stories about the players and coaches in the game.”

And, as for working with Line Drive Media and our accomplished staff, he concludes by saying:
