Devon Barley didn't want to go to a certain college camp... but it ended up making all the difference in the world for the 2026 HOT 100 outfielder.

Recruiting: 30 More Adds to Our Master Commit Spreadsheet Including Florida International, Wichita State, Boise State & More (Jan. 7, 2026)

Since Sunday (Jan. 4), when we last published our Line Drive Master Commit Spreadsheet, another 30 in the 2027 and 2026 classes have been added to give us 1,175 commits since we started tracking on Sept. 1!

And since Sept. 1, the Classes of 2026 and 2027 have seen players from all over the country–even Canada–commit.

It’s been a great New Year for 30 more happy 2026 and 2027 standout players who know where they’ll be playing at the next level!

Spotlight on Recent Commit Devon Barley

One of the new commits we have listed is Devon Barley, a 2026 centerfielder with the NY Lady Nightmares 18U – Hartenstein team.

She was ranked No. 64 in the 2026 HOT 100 rankings that were released in Sept. 2024 and had significant recruiting interest before deciding that a small private Catholic school, Georgian Court University in Lakewood Township, New Jersey was the right fit for her.

Here in Devon’s own words are how she made the decision to play for the Lions program which competes in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) at the DII level.

I honestly thought I was done with the recruiting.

I had done all the camps, all the showcases, all the tournaments. It was end of summer season after my junior year, I had some offers, and was ready to take the best one.

Devon was No. 64 in the 2026 HOT 100 published in Sept. 2024.

Then my Dad said we needed to do one more “last” camp (which would be like my fifth “last” camp!), the Chasing Greatness camp in New Jersey in August. He said a lot of coaches would be there.

I really didn’t want to go, but I am so grateful I did. It was the best camp I had ever attended.

I liked the format and the coaches a lot and it was run really well. There were tons of attention from all the coaches during drills and scrimmages, and I was picked to stay for the All-Star game at the end.

After camp, I got to speak to many of the coaches and got some great feedback. That is when I met Coach Jim Gleason. I liked him right off the bat, I loved what he had to say about my play and his plans as the new Head Coach at Georgian Court University, and agreed to schedule a campus visit.

At the visit a couple weeks later, I knew right away Georgian Court was the right place for me, and Coach Gleason would be the right coach for me.

I loved the campus, the mansion and grounds, the fields and facilities, it had my major, and I just felt at home.

Coach had a written offer ready at the visit, and I wanted to accept it on the spot, but we went home and discussed all the options as a family, and I was so relieved my parents felt the same way I did.

Coach Jim screamed so loud when I called to accept!

God works in amazing ways, I can’t wait to get to work at GCU, I am so excited to be a part of the team and program Coach Gleason is building there.
