T-8—Adelle Metz, C/OF, Lady Louisville Sluggers 16U – Huecker/Norwood
Adelle is, according to Sluggers Head Coach Scott Norwood, “the true definition of a 5-tool player. She stands at 6-foot tall and when she suits up everyone knows to look out.” Scouts love how she takes control of the game from behind the plate with her ability to lead, communicate and throw runners out with her elite arm speed. Adelle was in the top 10 in several categories of the P5 testing with her arm velocity of 67 mph and grip strength of 96. The backstop, per Coach Norwood: “possesses the leadership qualities every coach looks for in an athlete: from taking ownership in her game play to getting everyone fired up and laser focused on what’s at hand. Adelle is an amazing athlete and teammate and extremely fun to coach and to have watched her develop over these years I have coached her just makes it even that much more special. She knows and has what it takes to compete at the next level.” From St. Peters, Missouri, the 2027 grad also was impressive in her Francis Howell High’s varsity track team where this spring she ran the 100 meters, 200 meters, 4x100m, 4×400 and also did the triple jump, high jump and javelin, the latter of which she set a school record at 39.2 meters and was ranked as the No. 2 Freshman in the Show Me State and the No. 1 in Class 5.
Following the Class of 2027 rankings, the Class of 2026 will be next… here’s the schedule for the upcoming senior class:
The Line Drive HOT 100 is led by Line Drive Softball Executive Editor Brentt Eads, who began the softball player and team rankings format 15 years ago and in that time has done over 40 grad class rankings.
