This is Brentt Eads of Line Drive Softball…
Last week I had the privilege of being asked to do the “Caught Up Podcast” run by Randy Kaye, the President of the Roque FC travel organization out of Arizona.
I’ve known Randy for several years and the former machine shop owner turned full-time travel softball and high school coach is great for the sport.
Born and raised in Glendale, Ariz., Randy and his wife Leesa have three kids: daughters Breanna and Taylor and son Christian.
Randy explains:
“I began my softball journey in 2000, coaching my oldest daughter, Breanna, who graduated high school in 2010 and went on to play at Arizona State and Florida International. Later, I coached my youngest daughter, Taylor, a 2015 high school graduate who played at Grand Canyon University.”
He recalls an interesting milestone in his softball coaching journey.
“My very first travel ball team was a 12U team with my oldest daughter around 2002 or 2003. My assistant coach was a high school friend who, unbeknownst to me at the time, was the nephew of legendary University of Arizona Head Coach Mike Candrea. Looking back, I now realize how significant that connection was.”
In February of this year, Randy launched his podcast “with the goal of helping others through meaningful conversations aimed at growing the game and establishing my voice in the softball community.”
“My goal is to produce 100 episodes to learn the podcast space, enhance my skill set and determine the next steps,” the successful coach explains.
“I enjoy the social media side of marketing travel ball and have taught myself Photoshop, audio and video editing, and graphic design—skills that have been instrumental in launching my podcast.”
