My son Kailen, now a sophomore in college, is seen here when he was a young team focusing on making a gingerbread house for Christmas!

Players, Coaches, Families & Fans: What Will YOU Be Doing for The 2025 Holiday Break? (Dec. 12, 2025)

Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa are all less than two weeks away and so too is something that student-athletes and their families across the globe are looking to enjoy:

… time off from school and work!

I have one son who is a college sophomore at the University of Idaho as well as my youngest son, who is a high school senior, and they both get several weeks off for the holiday break.

We’ll all be headed to NorCal to be with family for a week and hopefully enjoying enjoying some warmer weather than what we’re getting currently in Idaho!

Some use the winter break to do other types of sports!

That’s our plans as the year comes to a close…

… what will YOU be doing over the next several weeks once school is done?
  • Any fun trips planned?
    • Warm weather? Cold weather? Close to home? Far away?
  • Any special get-togethers lined up?
    • Team parties? Family reunions? Fun with friends? Church activities?
  • Special places you’ll go?
    • Parades? Sight-seeing? Historical sites?
  • Softball-specific: important workouts, camps or other activities or events to improve your game?
  • Sleeping for 3 days straight?

Share your happy plans with Line Drive Softball – deadline to send in is Saturday, Dec. 20 at midnight EST/9 pm PST—and we’ll run an article shortly after sharing many of the diverse things we’ll all be doing!

Include a photo too please!

Many are great at serving others: here, a young teenager plays at an elderly care home.

Thanks so much… and Happy Holidays wishing you the best of what you are looking for!
