We’re always happy to see success from those we cover including our talented staff of bloggers.
One of those is Rose Wendel who we introduced this summer as a top two-sport athlete who moved earlier this year to Lancaster, Pa. and now attends Hempfield (Salunga-Landisville, Pa.) and plays for the Keystone State Bombers 18U team.
The standout corner infielder and pitcher has had a great fall season not only in softball, but also in tennis where she was part of a doubles team that made it to the Sweet 16 in Pennsylvania District Three Class 3 play, finishing in the Top 10 with her partner Alex Gregory.
Said Rose:
“Obviously, we would’ve loved to been first, but at least we made it pretty far!! My tennis doubles partner also plays softball and were excited to win districts too!”
On the softball side, Rose has continued to impress as she competed in the TNT Showcase and East Coast Academic showcase over the last several weeks and batted .500 including a key three-run homer – her 13th—to help her Bombers team win a game.
“There were some coaches at my game when I hit the home run,” she happily recalls.
Here are some softball video highlights courtesy of Rose’s social media:
