One player certain to make it high in the 2027 HOT 100 will be Morgan Maxwell, a standout pitcher and infielder who was a 1^st Team All-American (Multi-Purpose) selection this Spring .

Here’s what we wrote about her then:

Morgan Maxwell (Soph., West Forsyth, Clemmons N.C.)
Morgan got it done on both sides of the ball this year as she produced a 14-1 pitching record with a 0.88 ERA and had 136 strikeouts in 95 innings pitched. Opposing hitters batted just .164 against her but she, on the other hand, hit .416 with a .505 on-base percentage and hit .556 with runners in scoring position. Morgan was ranked at No. 5 overall in the 2028 Line Drive HOT 100 and was selected as one of 18 top performers in the U-15 Division at the 2024 USA Softball High-Performance Program (HPP) National Selection Event and PGF All-American Futures Game.

She was also included on the Line Drive 16U All-Summer Team which was released this week… here what we wrote about her yesterday (August 12, 2025):

Morgan was dominant all summer, helping her team to a Top 10 finish at the Top Gun Invitational and 3rd place at the Colorado Sparkler, posting a 1.025 ERA with 104 strikeouts and hitting .382 with five home runs.
