The middle game of the trio of PGF Nationals Week 2 finales on Sunday featuring the 12U Platinum, 12U Premier and the 14U Premier age divisions featured Love the Game (LTG) out of Sacramento and Hustle 2K11 out of Sugar Land, Texas.
The visitors from the Lone Star State jumped out to a big lead early and never looked back… here’s the recap.

No one passed on the memo to the Hustle 2K11 coaches and players that they were to ease into today’s National Championship game; instead, the team exploded for four runs in the top of the first inning against LTG 12U Premier and that would end up being the final score: 4-0.
The Texas-based team dressed in navy blue with white stripes jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the first out was recorded thanks to two walks and two LTG errors
Hustle first baseman Taylor Woitalevich then doubled the lead with a two RBI single to right field which plated Aliva Ramon and Lila Silman to put the lead at 4-0 before LTG had a chance to step up to the plate.
That would be more than enough for pitcher Maddison White, who scattered five hits across six innings with no earned runs and four strikeouts versus two walks. Ramon came in to close out the game, tossing one inning with two strikeouts and allowing two hits and no runs.
LTG looked to have posted its first run of the game in the bottom of the 3rd when 3-hole hitter Kinslee Buck singled to right field, but Tamiayh Ward was thrown out on the plate on a perfect throw from Hustle right-fielder Avery Mahon.
The NorCal team threatened again in the bottom of the fifth when it put runners on second and first with one out but two flyouts preserved the shutout.
Here’s our interview with Head Coach Tim Ramon and star pitcher Maddison White after the game…
