Last month, the Texas Blaze organization held its annual Texas Jamboree and among the talented players there was the player we had ranked No. 1 overall in the Class of 2028, Reagan Eldred.

Reagan, in case you’re not up on her talents, is the 6-foot-2 pitcher who throws hard and was heavily recruited before committing to Tennessee.
If you want to read about why she was chosen as the No. 1 player in the 2028 class at this point, click on this article (note it’s behind a paywall):
And here’s two other stories we’ve done over the last month giving more on her background and very busy month of September ‘26:
Not surprisingly, she had a strong Texas Jamboree, but she must have been nervous when she had to face a hitter that no doubt left her with pitching nightmares and strong self-doubts about her future…
*****
Reagan throws a strike in one of her games…
*****
… and then gets a strikeout.
*****
But then she faced the always dangerous, swinging-for-the-fences, legend in his own mind… Brentt Eads … in pre-game warmups.
Oh boy, somebody could have gotten hurt here (spoiler alert: surprisingly, no rocket shots were hit back at Reagan)…
Says Brentt:
“I believe she threw a pitch there but I blinked and didn’t see anything.”
*****
So he got in the box again to face her curveball this time…
And, with all humility, said:
“I don’t think I’ll be hitting that pitch, either.”
*****
Brentt here…
Thanks to Reagan and all the Texas Blaze folks at last month’s Texas Jamboree who were so accommodating and welcoming, especially Blaze head JB Slimp and 18U head coach Cory Robertson.
Speaking of Coach Cory… we’ll be publishing an interview with him and Reagan that, let’s just say, I’ve watched it a half dozen times and, for some reason, it causes my allergies to make my eyes water every time.
Yea, that’s what I’m going with… allergies.
