The Texas Glory 18U team which captured the 18U title at the 2025 TL Summer Championship.

You won’t find many in the fastpitch softball world as accomplished as Kevin Shelton, the founder of the Texas Glory organization 25 years ago.

Kevin has grown the club program to over 100 teams nationwide, has been the head coach of national championship-winning teams and developed hundreds—if not thousands—of softball players who’ve gone on to compete at the collegiate, pro and even international levels.

And that’s just in softball: off the playing fields, he’s been a U.S. Navy nuclear submarine officer, worked at companies such as Proctor & Gamble and Frito-Lay Pepsico and been married for over 30 years with six kids and nine grandkids (at last count!).

  • “How things work” directed to young kids,
  • Astrophysics,
  • The history of women’s sports,
  • Travel guides,
  • Short biographies on lesser known but significantly impactful figures in history.

His latest publication is softball related and was just released this summer: the Softball/Baseball Mini Scorebook which he and fellow Texas Glory coach Cedric Coleman co-authored and which is available on Amazon for $6.99 (note: it would make a great Christmas stocking stuffer for your favorite softball player, parent, coach and/or score keeper!)
