International News: Team USA Runs Record to 3-0 Against Australia in USA Down Under Series With 7-0 Run-Rule Victory (January 2, 2026)

Team USA remains perfect at the 2025 USA Down Under Series following a 7-0 run-rule victory (five innings) over Australia — highlighted by home runs from Sierra Sacco, Hannah Flippen, and a grand slam off the bat of Alyssa Brito.

Kelly Maxwell got the start in the circle, tossing three shutout innings before Montana Fouts took over in the fourth and retired all six batters she faced via strikeout.

The duo combined for a no-hitter — their second of the series.

Scoring all seven runs via home runs, Sacco put the Eagles on the board in the bottom of the first with a lead-off solo shot to center field, followed shortly after by a two-run blast from Flippen.

A pair of walks and a single from Maya Brady in the bottom of the third set the stage for Brito, who delivered a grand slam to center to extend the lead and put the Eagles in run-rule territory (7-0).

Fouts closed out the matchup in the top of the fifth, retiring the side in order via strikeout to secure the win.

Here’s the box score from Game 3…
