Quick Start for USA

The Red, White and Blue wasted no time getting on the board, pushing across two runs in the bottom of the first thanks to an RBI-double from Khloe Williams paired with a single from Allison Eicholtz that scored one, putting the Eagles ahead, 2-0.

The momentum continued in the bottom of the second as Michaela Landers drove in another run with a double to left, extending the U.S. lead, 3-0.

Despite a quiet third inning, Team USA added four more runs through the fourth and fifth innings to seal the run-rule in five.

Williams once again delivered at the plate, finishing 2-for-2 with two RBIs, while Landers (2-for-3) and Kyndall Johnson (2-for-2) also turned in multi-hit performances to help lead the 10-hit effort.

In the circle, Lucy Reis kept Mexico at bay with a five-inning shutout in which she retired four batters via strikeout while not issuing any walks. Holding steady behind her, the U.S. defense posted its fourth-straight error-free performance.
