The WBSC U-18 World Cup action in Group C wrapped up the opening round on Sunday and Team USA continued its dominance by running its record to 5-0 after a 7-0 run-rule of The Philippines on Sunday at The Village in the Dallas, Texas area.
Heading into Monday (Labor Day) and the final games of action, the American team has scored 56 runs and allowed just one to set up what looks to be a great showdown against Canada in a 3:30 pm CT game.

The USA team beat Team Canada on Friday by a score of 9-1 but on Sunday pitcher Morgan Reimer tossed a perfect game in a 2-0 win over Australia to make the Labor Day finale one to watch.
On the Red, White & Blue front, the pitching was once again amazing as Addisen Fisher (Bend, OR), Lexie Hames (Harmony, PA) and Cameryn Harrison (Katy, TX) pitched a combined ho-hitter with Hames getting the win.
In the first five games, the USA hurlers have only allowed five hits and one run in the tournament and three of the five victories have been no hitters.

The following release was issued by USA Softball to recap Sunday’s win…
U-18 Women’s National Team caps opening round with 7-0 run-rule over the Philippines
DALLAS, Texas (September 1, 2024) — Team USA improved to 5-0 at the 2024 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-18 World Cup Group C Stage Event following a 7-0 run-rule victory over the Philippines to close out opening round and advance to the final contest as the No. 1 seed in Group C.
Staying hot at the plate, the Eagles came out strong in game five with seven runs on 10 hits behind a perfect 2-for-2 performance from Sofia Mujica, in addition to multi-hit performances from Ella McDowell (2-for-3) and Harlie Chism (2-for-3).
A double off the bat of Ella McDowell and base hits from seven U.S. batters helped propel the U.S. offense to the win. At the same time, the pitching staff of Addisen Fisher, Lexie Hames and Cameryn Harrison combined for 10 strikeouts to seal the Red, White and Blue’s fourth shutout.
The Eagles will close out the WBSC World Cup Group C Stage Event tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. CT with a rematch against Canada and a ticket to the 2025 WBSC World Cup Finals on the line.
