There’s a lot of sports going on these days: MLB playoffs are in full swing, pro and college football are in mid-season form and the NBA is even kicking off now with preseason play.
In fastpitch softball, while most of the country is involved in travel ball competition, there are states like Oklahoma and Georgia which are in high school playoff mode.
This weekend and for the next week, Devon Park in Oklahoma City, Okla. is hosting the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA) High School Fast Pitch State Championships which will run through Oct. 19, 2024.
Line Drive Softball is, and will be, recapping the action via USA Softball coverage and releases.
Class A, B and 2A kicked off on Thursday with trophies to be decided today (Saturday, Oct. 12) on the famous OG&E Energy Field—part of what helps definite Oklahoma City as the “Softball Capital of the World.”®
Classes 3A, 4A, 5A and 6A will crown their state champs next weekend, Oct. 17-19.
Live streaming is available through the National Federation of State High School (NFHS) Network with a paid subscription, while live stats will be provided through USASoftball.com.
Adding to the experience for those attending the playoffs, the National Softball Hall of Fame Museum and gift shop is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Games Played Friday, Oct. 11, 2024
Day Two of the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA) High School Fast-Pitch (Small School) State Championships brought even more intense competition as teams continued their journey toward state titles.
Teams dug deep, putting on a show of grit and determination as they fought for a spot in the final round. The competition is heating up as we get closer to recognizing the champions in Classes A, 2A, and B.
Key matchups saw powerhouse teams battling for a place in the finals.
In Class A – Caddo and Tushka carried their momentum from Day 1 with another dominant performance – securing a spot in the championship game.
In Class B – Leedey and Stuart’s pitching and clutch hitting propelled them past their opponents in hard-fought semifinals – Pocola and Dale continued their impressive run in Class 2A – anchored by standout pitching and solid defense.
Notable performances of the day included stellar outings from Allyssa Parker (Pocola), who pitched another outstanding game with 13 strikeouts, and Makinlee Carpenter (Leedey), who continued to lead her team with timely hits, going 3-for-3 at the plate.

Games Played Thursday, Oct. 10, 2024
The first round of the OSSAA Oklahoma High School Fast-Pitch Small School State Championships delivered an exciting start, with teams showcasing their talent and determination on the field.
Day 1 competition was fierce, with several teams delivering impressive performances. Caddo (A) secured a strong 14-4 win over Ripley (A) – while Oktaha (2A) edged out Preston (2A) in a nail-biting 2-0 victory after a late-game rally.
Kiowa (B) also impressed with a significant 12-8 victory against Soper (B), further adding to the competitive spirit of the day.
Among the day’s top performances, Allyssa Parker of Pocola High School (2A) dominated the mound striking out 17 batters – allowing no runs and no hits in seven innings.
Meanwhile, Paris Stanford of Stuart High School (B) went 2-for-3 at the plate generating three RBIs, helping her team advance to the semifinals.
