It’s the end of October that means two things:

1. It’s Halloween week, and
2. There’s a lot of great softball to be played this upcoming weekend!

Friday is Halloween and we at Line Drive are in the “dressing up” frame of mind. As we detailed last Friday, we’re looking for the most fun and creative costumes for those who are in the mood to be creative.

The Halloween Costume Competition takes place this week and is spearheaded by our own Grace White. Click HERE for more details.

This takes place before the scary 31st, but be sure to send us pics of your dressing up during and after Halloween too!

This Halloween Weekend will also provide us a lot of great softball too including three events we’ll be covering:

1. The The PGF Ultimate Challenge runs Friday through Sunday (Oct. 31 – Nov. 2) in Salinas, Calif. and will feature many of the elite travel ball teams in the West. Line Drive’s Brentt Eads will be at the NorCal club event watching the action in person.
2. Another fantastic club softball tournament we will be covering is the Arizona Fall Invitational taking place Friday through Sunday in Scottsdale and Phoenix. The loaded field of top 16U and 18U teams will have teams all over the country — from California (Corona Angels, for example) to Florida (the Tampa Mustans) to Rhode Island (the Rhode Island Thunder).
3. And last, but not least, Line Drive correspondent Steve Hickey will be in Columbus, Ga. to watch this week’s Georgia High School State Championships! The question on everyone’s mind will be, can Buford High not only take the tile home, but finish the season with with an undefeated record.
