Event Recap: OC Batbusters-Stith/Byrd, Firecrackers-Brashear/Falls Capture 12U, 10U Titles at Triple Crown Tournament of Champions (March 16, 2025)

Triple Crown Tournament of Champions was held March 15-16 in Lake Elsinore/Perris, CA:

12U: OC BATBUSTERS-STITH/BYRD 10, EXPLOSION-KIM/TAVERA 2

OC Batbusters-Stith/Byrd, the reigning 12U Alliance national champion, cruised to a 10-2 win over Explosion-Kim/Tavera in the 12U championship game of the Triple Crown Tournament of Champions on Sunday at BLD in Perris, CA.

2030 P Taylor Goodwin, #4 in the 2030 Line Drive Hot 100, allowed two three hits and no earned runs with one strikeout in 3.0 innings to record the victory and she went 2 for 3 with a double, a run and an RBI to lead Batbusters-Stith/Byrd.

Goodwin batted .700 with an OBP for the tournament and 2030 MIF Kaydence Gordon hit .647 for the weekend.

Batbusters-Stith/Byrd defeated Firecrackers-Brashear/Thornburg, 8-0, Power Surge-Hammond, 4-0, and Explosion-Kim/Tavera, 7-2, in bracket games.

“This was a fun tourney for our team after playing in 14U since January,” Batbusters coach Jeff Byrd said. “These were our first 12U games in over two months. It’s nice to be back in 12U and to finish 6-0 and outscoring our opponents 54-4!”

Explosion-Kim/Tavera beat Cal Thunder LeVier/Ramirez, 16-4, Wolfpack 2012-Almaraz/Dietrich, 4-3, and lost to Batbusters-Stith/Byrd, 10-2, in bracket games.

10U: FIRECRACKERS 2K14-BRASHEAR/FALLS 3, OC BATBUSTERS-BAKER 2

Firecrackers 2K14-Brashear/Falls took down OC Batbusters-Baker, 3-2, in the 10U championship game of the Triple Crown Tournament of Champions on Sunday at BLD in Perris, CA.

2032 P/IF Aaliyah Camacho, who was named tournament MVP, batted .600 with four doubles, a homer and 11 RBIs and she pitched seven innings with 18 strikeouts to lead Firecrackers-Brashear/Falls for the tournament. 2032 P/1B Amaya Diaz (.500 AVG, 3 doubles, 8 RBIs) pitched a complete game with 14 strikeouts in the championship game, 2032 3B/OF Averie McDonald (.600 AVG, 5 RBIs) and 2032 2B/OF Camdyn Falls (.500 AVG, 7 runs, 5 SBs) led Firecrackers-Brashear/Falls for the tournament.

Firecrackers-Brashear/Falls beat Clutch Up Softball Academy, 8-2, Athletics Mercado 2015-HR/Gomez, 10-1, and Batbusters-Baker, 3-2, in bracket games.

Batbusters-Baker defeated SoCal Havoc, 11-3, Explosion 2033-Kim/Adame, 15-0, Corona Angels-Smith/Garcia Blue, 8-2, and lost to Firecrackers-Brashear/Falls, 3-2.
