Event Recap: Nationals Take Down Americans in Alliance All-Star Game (July 20, 2025)

The Nationals jumped on the Americans early and pulled away for a 6-1 victory in the Alliance All-Star Game on Sunday at Kokomo High in Indiana.

Florida State-bound MIF/CF Makenna Sturgis (Tampa Mustangs-Rene) drew a one-out walk and scored on a double to right-center field by Maryland-bound C/3B Zayda Rocke (Unity-Torres), giving the Nationals a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning.

Michigan State-bound SS/CF/1B/3B LaTerra Foster-Frison drove in Texas-bound RHP/1B Hannah Wells (Oklahoma Athletics National-Madden, Gatorade National Player of the Year, #12 in the 2025 Line Drive Hot 100) with a grounder to short to improve the Nationals’ lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the 4th inning.

Oklahoma-bound MIF Lexi McDaniel (Aces Fastpitch Club, #2 in the 2025 Line Drive Hot 100) helped the Americans avert the shutout when she drilled a home run to center field to cut the gap to 4-1 in the top of the 6th inning.

Tennessee-bound C/SS/1B Elsa Morrison (Texas Bombers Gold-Smith, #3 in the 2025 Line Drive Hot 100) belted an opposite-field home run to right field to drive in Arkansas-bound OF/UT Khamari Hall (Impact-Gold-Jackson, #4 in the 2025 Line Drive Hot 100), giving the Nationals a 6-1 lead in the bottom of the 6th inning.

Clemson-bound RHP Lexie Hames (Fury Platinum X-Higdon, #13 in the 2025 Line Drive Hot 100) pitched the final two innings, allowing the Americans’ lone run. She got out of a bases-loaded jam in the top of the 7th inning with a strikeout to end the game.

Hall went 2 for 2 with an All-Star record three stolen bases.

“I can do everything,” Hall said. “I can hit away, I can slap, I can bunt, I can hit the ball over the fence … I think using all of my tools makes me great at that. Really, have fun. Don’t make moments bigger than they are. This is a fun game. Yeah, it’s serious at times, but it’s a fun game and I’m blessed to play it.”

The Nationals lead the all-time series, 3-1-1. The Nationals and Americans tied, 4-4, in last summer’s All-Star Game.

“Yeah, it means everything, just all the hard work I’ve been putting in is paying off,” Hall said. “I’m just excited for the new chapter. It’s sad, but I’m also excited.”
