Texas Bombers Gold 16U 11, Georgia Impact Premier 1
The power-hitting, power-pitching Bombers showed in the championship game why there were all but unstoppable this weekend as the team jumped out to a 3-0 lead and made it 5-0 in the 5th inning before blowing the game wide open in the 6th with a half dozen more runs in what would be an 11-1.
The undefeated run this week of eight victories now gives Head Coach Dale Series’ team a 25-0 mark for this summer.
While the offense was finding its groove in the title win, pitcher Malloy Miles, a 2027 righthander who is headed to Ole Miss, ended up with only one earned run allowed on six hits, five strikeouts and, importantly, no walks.
It was truly a team effort on offense as seven players had at least one hit with seven different players having at least one RBI.
The game was scoreless until the top of the second inning when the explosive Bombers offensive put four runs on the board, making the game effectively over with Miles pitching.

The incoming senior, who pitched a perfect game earlier in the week at the P5 Patriot Games, used her change-up to keep the Impact hitters off balance.
In the four-run second inning, 2028 middle infielder Ainsley Morvan had a two-run double to bring home 2029 outfielder Courtney Latronico and 2027 outfielder Emree Massad, who has committed to the Texas Longhorns.
2028 middle infielder Ashlynn Kennedy then singled to right to bring home Morvan and advance Kennedy to second base.
The Bombers pushed across another run in the top of the 5th inning to make the score 5-0—all the cushion Miles would need but the 2027 standout, who did have a scare in the bottom of the 5th inning when the Impact loaded the bases with two outs.
Miles, however, was able to get a flyout to end the threat and keep the shutout intact at that point.
In the top of the 6th, the Impact—due to injuries to their pitchers—the Impact had to bring in a non-pitcher to throw–and she hasn’t pitched since 12U.
Not surprisingly, the Bombers opened the scoring with another two runs on a double by Landry Mutscher, a 2028 infielder, to put the Bombers up by a score of 7-0, which eventually became 11-0 after a hit by pitch, a wild pitch, a sac fly and a two-run double by Latronica.
In the bottom of the 6th the Impact was able to put a run on the board ,but Miles struck out the side to finish the win—and championship—for the Bombers, giving the organization it’s second P5 Patriot Games title of the day.
The 16U P5 Patriot Games title winners followed up its closing victory just a half hour after the 14U team won its age division at an adjacent field at the Triple Crown Sports complete in Fort Collins, Colo.

Texas Bombers Gold 12, Beverly Bandits – Chow/Hardin 4
The Bombers 14U team led by Head Coach Dale Series didn’t waste time getting on the board. In the bottom of first, a leadoff walk by Camari Peek turned into the game’s first run on a double off the fence by Jilly Gonzales.
In the top of the second inning, an infield error and walk put runners on first and second with two outs when 2029 middle infield Brooke White of the Bandits lined up the middle for a single which plated a run in a close play at the plate to tie the game 1-1.
An infield hit by Bandits outfielder Aubree Minor loaded the bases but a grounder to Bombers third baseman Kimber Fuessel ended the threat when she stepped on third base for the third out.
In the bottom of the 2nd, the Bombers regained the lead and more so on a lead-off home run down the first baseline by 2029 first baseman Alexandra Wiatrek which cleared the 215-foot sign easily and put the Texas team up 2-1.
The Bombers threatened again with a bunt single by Fuessel and a flair over third by 2029 infielder Kennedy Carlson to set the table for 2029 middle infielder Ivy Jones who hit a clean single to right to load the bases with one out.
Lyla-Cate Wimberly a 2029 lefty-hitting outfielder for the Bombers, hit a liner off the shortstop’s glove and, as the ball rolled into the outfield, Fuessel and Carlson came across to put the lead at 4-1.
Reese Madsen, a 2029 outfielder, then hit a blast off the left field fence to bring home another run and suddenly the Bombers had a 5-1 lead, leading to a pitching change for the Bandits as Alana Nieto took over mound duties.
She had runners on second and third with only one out and was able to get an infield fly for out two, but Jilly Gonzales lined a shot off the left field fence to drive in two more to put the lead at 7-1 at the end of two innings after an explosive six-run bottom of the second for the Texas team.
The Bandits put runners on second and first in the top of the 3rd inning when Nieto hit a shot to deep left field that scored two to cut the lead to 7-3.
Alyssa Muhlback, a 2029 Bandits outfielder, reached first on a bunt and moved Nieto to third base but Bombers starting pitcher Abby Nails, a 2029 right-hander who was clocked at 69 mph during the game, was able to induce a ground to shortstop to close the inning.
The Bombers’ Wiatrek led off the bottom half of the third inning with a walk but Bandits pitcher Alana Nieto was able to escape without any damage to push the game to the 4th inning with the score remaining 7-3.

The Bombers made a pitching change as Trinity Brents, a 2029 lefty, came in to take over for Nails.
Aubree Minor of the Bandits led off the top of the 4th with an infield hit to third base and was able to beat the throw to first. She then stole second and went to third on a ground out followed by a walk by 2029 catcher Avery Stock but was stranded on third with another ground out to third.
With one out, Wimberly of the Bombers hit a grounder that took a funny bounce over the first baseman’s glove and she used her speed to turn it into a double. She went to third on a groundout to the pitcher for out No. 2, but Peek hit a mammoth blast over the left field fence to increase the lead to 9-3.
In the top of the 5th, 2029 lefty pitcher Trinity Brents entered the game for the Bombers and faced Bandits 2029 pitcher/infielder Maya Melendez who led off with a blast off the left field fence but it turned out to be just a long single.
However, Nieto doubled to the deepest part of centerfield to bring home Melendez and make the score 9-4.
That led to the third Bombers pitcher taking the mound as Layla Werner took over and got three quick outs to limit the scoring to just one run.
The Bombers added another three runs highlighted by an RBI double by Devon Patterson to close out the win by the final score of 12-4.

Let’s say this: at the Rolland Moore Park, where the 16U teams primarily played, there were OVER 100 college coaches who signed in a the Triple Crown Sports booth!
To list them all would take some time but here are photos of the coaches who signed in (and know that there were some who didn’t or did at other venues):

*** Want to know why the Bombers 16U team was so good? The team has FIVE legit pitchers including 2028 right-hander Jessica Hinnant who is seen here finishing one of the earlier games on Saturday for the Texas Bombers:
*** In an Elite 8 game, it was a nail-biter between Impact Gold and Fury in the 16U age division.
The Fury held a 7-6 lead going into the bottom of the 5th, which have ended it because of time up.
The Impact loaded the bases with no outs and did score the tying run on a walk, but a strikeout, fly out to short and grounder to the pitcher—all with the bases full—prevented the Impact from securing the win.
The game went into extra innings even though it was only the 6th and ultimately the Fury put two on the board courtesy of a two RBI triple.
Down to their last strike, the Impact tied the game with a flair to center by. Addison Hawks that tied the game 9-9.
Top of 7, Fury 2028 infielder Baylor Bockhaus fouled off several two strike pitches before singling to center to bring in the go-ahead run 10-9.but standout pitcher/hitter Addison Hawks was able to keep it to a one run deficit.
In the bottom of the 7th with Reese Covington runner on second, Kynlee Reagin singled to left field and stole second to put runners on second and third, no outs.
After a player walked, Katie Wrigley’s soft hit to left for the two RBI’ to win the game for the Impact 11-10 was one of the highlights of the day.
Katie was very impressive today, definitely a standout to watch in her class…
… here’s an interview done with her after the big win over the Fury…

*** Scary moment in the 16U semi-final between Unity – Johnson and Bomber Gold 16U.
Unity 2028 third baseman Gemma DeJoseph was on defense when a laser shot was hit to her and she was unable to get her glove up in time and the ball drilled her in the forehead and taking her down to the ground where she lay on her back for several minutes.
Coaches rushed out to her and, fortunately, she was eventually about to recover and get off the field on her own… but, those watching the game were holding their breathes for a few moments.
It was a scoreless game until the 4th inning when Tinley Goodson was hit by a pitch and game around to score on a hit to left field. She was actually caught in a rundown but she sprinted to home and the throw to the plate was dropped putting the Unity on the board for the 1-0 lead .
Danielle Neve, a 2030 infielder, then doubled to right field to drive in a run and make the lead 2-0.
In the bottom of 5th, two walks with no outs set the table for No. 18 Ashlyn Kennedy who lined a shot off Savage into right field driving in one run and then the game-tying second run came around when the outfield throw to third was target.
Suddenly, the score was 2-2 with Kennedy at second base leading to Unity making a pitching change to 2029 right-hander Makayla Megnauth
No. 77 hit a flair to left that dropped in and scored Kennedy who had moved to third on a flyout.
After 5 inning, the Bombers offense had come alive with three runs to take the lead 3-2 and in the top of the 6th Jessica Hinnant got a 1-2-3 inning thanks to great catches by centerfielder Emree Massaad who laid out to get out two and then the final out was caught by shortstop Ashlyn Kennedy who made the catch running into left field to secure the 3-2 win.
Hinnant went the distance for the come-from-behind win.
*** In the other 16U semi, the Georgia Impact and Warriors put up an offensive onslaught with the score 10-6 after two innings.
Most of the scoring was small ball mixed with an error or walk here or there.
The Impact pushed across another run in the top of the 3rd with an RBI flair to right field by No. 21 to make the score 11-6 and it became 1

*** The Bombers won their first game of the day over TN Mojo – Pardue by a score of 14-4 and the big performer of the game was Maliyah Lewis who went 3-for-3 with four RBIs and also pitched two innings with three strikeouts and no hits given up.
* Tinley Goodson of Unity -Johnson went 3-for-3 with a home run in the first game Saturday and also laid out to make a great play in the outfield.
*** Addison Hawks, the lefty 2028 pitcher for Georgia Impact – Premier, had a great two-way performance in Game 1 of the day in a 5-4 win over Birmingham Thunderbolts.
In the circle, she had six strikeouts and really helped her cause at the plate with a a and a single.
*** Also on the Impact, 2028 first baseman Katie Wrigley impressed with a home and several nice plays at first including a backhand defensive grounder for an out and making a pick on an online throw.
*** LG Goldin, the No. 1 player in the Class of 2029 HOT 100 rankings, showed her elite status in the 5-4 loss to the impact as she made a great play at shortstop in the first inning and had two-run homer and a sac fly.
