#4 Arizona Rising-Appel and #42 USA Athletics Gold-Rogers did not play the championship game and finished as co-champions of the So Cal A’s Invitational on Sunday at Harvard Park in Irvine, CA.

Oklahoma-committed 2026 OF/1B Payton Westra (.579 AVG, 3 HRs, 13 RBIs), Utah State-committed 2026 2B/OF Amanda Benites (.562 AVG, 10 runs) and Boise State-bound P/1B Kodi Crabtree (0.66 ERA, 16 Ks, 10 IP) were the leaders for Arizona Rising-Appel.

“To start the season 14-0-1 and champs in our first two events of the summer, just shows where this team can get when it’s clicking on all cylinders,” Arizona Rising coach Steve Appel said. “Next up, Colorado National Power Pools in Aurora before wrapping up at PGF Nationals.”

Uncommitted 2026 1B Addy Everett (.611 AVG, 1 HR, 9 RBIs, 6 runs, 619 OBP), uncommitted 2026 CF Lotti White (.550 AVG, .550 OBP, 9 runs), Grand Canyon-bound RF Izzy Rueda (.500 AVG, .500 OBP, 7 runs), New Mexico-bound RHP Alyssa Hensgen (2 wins, 1.75 ERA), Oregon State-bound RHP Bailey Murray (2 wins, 1 save), uncommitted 2027 RHP Isabella Gonzalez (2 wins, 1.56 ERA) and UCLA-committed 2026  RHP Jo Marsh (2 wins, 1.55 ERA) were the leaders for the USA Athletics.

“Starting summer season with the players wanting to compete at a high level,” USA Athletics coach Mike Rogers said, “sets us up for a championship run!”

Arizona Rising-Appel defeated Sorcerer-Gabales/Rodriguez, 12-1, #18 LTG-Henderson/Cat, 12-1, So Cal Choppers-Fausett, 3-1, and DNP’d USA Athletics in bracket games.

USA Athletics defeated #36 Explosion Premier, 4-2, #25 Warrior Academy-McDonald, 1-0, California Grapettes-Merrida, 7-1, and DNP’s Arizona Rising-Appel in bracket games.
