Top Club Nationals were held June 19-22 in OKC (All rankings Line Drive Hot 50 Club National Rankings):
Sparks Elite-Ross/Stewart had the toughest road to a championship, culminating with an 8-5 victory over #13 Hotshots National-Nelson in the 18U championship game of the Top Club Nationals on Saturday at the University of Oklahoma.
Arkansas-committed 2025 C/MIF Brinli Bain and North Carolina State-committed 2025 P/1B/3B Morgen Talley homered, South Alabama-bound OF Presley Lively went 3 for 3 with a double, a triple, two runs and three RBIs and Liberty-bound C Alexia Carrasquillo went 2 for 3 as Sparks Elite held off the Hotshots.
Sparks Elite upset #5 Tennessee Mojo-Ramsey/Fisher, 7-6, and picked up a 6-2 win over #1 OC Batbusters-Stith, the two-time defending 19U Alliance national champion, in the Elite 8 to reach the final.
Lively went 2 for 3 with a homer, Bain went 2 for 2 with two RBIs and Mississippi State-bound MIF/UT Morgan Stiles went 3 for 3 for Sparks Elite against the OC Batbusters.
Stiles had three hits and three RBIs in Sparks Elite’s win over Tennessee Mojo.
Nebraska-committed 2025 LHP Alexis Jensen was dominant in the circle, allowing five hits and striking out 13 in 7.0 innings to shut out Oklahoma Athletics National-Madden/Knight in Nebraska Gold National-Perkins’ 5-0 win in the 16U championship game of the Top Club Nationals on Saturday at Bouse Sports Complex.
“Alexis Jensen is one of the best competitors that I have coached,” Nebraska Gold coach Bill Heard said. “She’s continuing to get better and grow. She buys into being a team player as well, which allows her to compete freely.”
Nebraska-committed 2025 C/3B/B Carlie Muhlbach had an RBI triple in the top of the 1st inning. Nebraska Gold added four more runs in the top of the 3rd inning on an RBI single by Muhlbach and a three-run homer by uncommitted 2025 1B/P CJ Morgan.
“Winning this title is a testament to the selflessness of our kids,” Heard said. “In the final game, 15 kids all played and contributed. Our group has bought into being a team and we have had success because of it.”
Nebraska Gold knocked off #3 Hotshots Naudin National-Villegas, 1-0, in the quarterfinals and #46 Select Fastpitch-Woelbel, 7-0, in the Elite 8 to reach the final.
Nebraska Gold scored a run on a fielder’s choice in the top of the 8th and that was enough for Jensen, who pitched a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts in eight innings to record the shutout against the Hotshots.
2027 SS Kylee Wyman’s RBI double in the top of the 7th inning gave Vision Gold 09-Merryman the lead and they held on for a 2-1 victory over Nebraska Gold 09 National-Swift in the 14U championship game of the Top Club Nationals on Saturday at Buck Thomas Ball Park.
“This is a special group,” Vision Gold coach Anthony Merryman said. “The majority of these girls have played together since they were 7 years old and they all live in Northwest Arkansas and go to school together (except for one Okie). They truly love to play softball together and they work their tails off day in and day out. Wins like this are even more special because of the losses and heartbreak they’ve experienced together. Regardless of the wins or losses, they always stick together and continue working hard!”
2027 1B Jazz Thomas’ sacrifice fly gave Vision Gold a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning.
2028 C Dylan Glatter’s RBI single in the bottom of the 4th inning gave Nebraska Gold a 1-1 tie.
Vision Gold upset #11 OC Batbusters-Stith/Garcia, 6-2, to reach the championship game.
