Event Recap: 18U/16U/14U Champs Crowned at Scenic City Fall Top 25 (Nov. 9, 2025)

Scenic City Fall Top 25 was held Friday-Sunday in Dalton/Rocky Face, GA:

18U: LOUISVILLE LADY SLUGGERS-HUECKER/NORWOOD VS. ATHLETICS MERCADO-SMITH

Louisville Lady Sluggers-Huecker/Norwood and Athletics Mercado-Smith both reached the 18U championship game and decided not to play the final and finished as co-champions on Sunday at Heritage Point in Hampton, GA.

“Another great run against some of the best teams in the South,” Athletics Mercado assistant coach Mark Smith said. “Always a great-run tournament. It’s our third year in a row coming out here.  We have co-champed all three years.  It’s a tournament that has turned into an annual event for us.”

Utah-committed 2027 1B/OF Bree Carlson (.524 AVG), Arizona State-committed 2027 MIF Hayden Huerta (.364 AVG) and Oregon-committed 2026 MIF/OF Bailey Goldberg (.320 AVG) were the offensive leaders for Athletics Mercado and UCLA-committed P Coral Williams (3-0, 1.01 ERA, 31 Ks) led the  pitching staff.

Liberty-committed 2027 C/UT Nealy McCluskey (.625 AVG, .768 OBP, 1.519 OPS), Florida State-committed 2026 SS McLaine Hudson (.526 AVG, .591 OBP, 1.591 OPS), Kentucky-committed 2027 OF/C Tori Hahn (.389 AVG, .400 OBP, .900 OPS)and Mississippi State-committed 2026 OF Alexia Thigpen (.364 AVG, .462 OBP, .916 OPS) were the offensive leaders or the Lady Sluggers.

Michigan-committed 2027 P Lucy George, Virginia Tech-committed 2026 P Grace Swedarsky, Tennessee-committed 2026 LHP Maggie Krause, Western Kentucky-committed 2026 P/UT Layla Ogden and Kentucky-committed 2027 P Courtney Norwood led the Lady Sluggers’ pitching staff.

“This weekend was a total team effort,” Lady Sluggers coach Scott Norwood said. “Our pitchers were dialed in and offensively we came to hit. We had several key hits at crucial times. As a whole, this entire weekend was a complete team effort. I am definitely proud of them all.”

Louisville Lady Sluggers-Huecker/Norwood defeated Virginia Glory National-Willemssen, 9-2, Beverly Bandits Premier-Meredith/Trackwell, 4-1, Birmingham Thunderbolts Premier, 6-5, Tennessee Mojo-Ramsey/Fisher, 4-3, and DNP’d Athletics Mercado-Smith in bracket games.

Athletics Mercado-Smith defeated Southern National Force-Palmer, 2-0, Unity-Torres/Slezak, 4-2, Team NC-Hinde, 11-3, Chicago Cheetahs-Connolly, 9-4, and DNP’d Louisville Lady Sluggers-Huecker/Norwood in bracket games.

16U: TN MOJO 2027-FOX VS. BEVERLY BANDITS-PREMIER-CONROY

TN Mojo 2027-Fox and Beverly Bandits Premier-Conroy both reached the 16U championship game, but both decided not to play the final and finished as co-champions on Sunday at Heritage Point in Hampton, GA.

“Wining T25 confirms a lot of what we already know about our team culture, mindset and talent we have on this team,” TN Mojo coach DeAnn Fox said. “Now, we are just proving to others with wins like this where  we belong and the grit we have competing at this elite level.”

Bradley-committed 2027 SS/OF/UT Kamryn Rhoton (.562 AVG, .611 OBP, 1.062 OPS, 2 HRs, 6 RBIs), 2028 C/3B/OF/UT Makayla Jones (.467 AVG, .500 OBP, .933 OPS, 2 HRs, 4 RBIs), Bradley-committed 2027 MIF/OF Keeley Walsh (.400 AVG, .500 OBP), 2028 C/UT Peyton Grindstaff (.364 AVG, .500 OBP) and 2027 P/3B/OF Haley Helm (.357 AVG, .400 OBP, 2 HRs, 4 RBIs, 1.27 ERA, 22 IP, 31 Ks) were the TN Mojo 2027-Fox leaders.

“The whole team played outstanding,” Bandits coach Bill Conroy said. “(2028 RHP Sophia) Schlader was great on the mound and hit some home runs. I was really impressed with my three older 16s — (2027 OF) Bri Meracle, (Missouri-committed 2027 MIF) Nola Tylke and (Northwestern-committed 2027 MIF) Kailey Heberer.”

TN Mojo 2027-Fox defeated Unity 27/28-Bryan/Jones, 11-6, Beverly Bandits Premier-Moran/Lewis, 3-2, Hustle Nation-Ramon, 6-1, Empire State Huskies-Porcelli, 7-3, Impact Gold National-Siegel, 7-0, and DNP’d Beverly Bandits Premier-Conroy in bracket games.

Beverly Bandits Premier-Conroy defeated Fury Premier 2027-Robinson, 12-3, Wisconsin Lightning 28/29-Eiccholz, 15-3, Louisville Lady Sluggers 09-Velotta, 4-1, Firecrackers Select RTY 2027, 10-1, and DNP’d TN Mojo 2027-Fox in bracket games.

14U: LTG 2029-HENDERSON/BUCK 13, TAMPA MUSTANGS OHANA 5

NorCal-based LTG 2029-Henderson/Buck knocked off Florida-based Tampa Mustangs Ohana, 13-5, in the 14U championship game on Sunday at Edwards Park in Whitfield County, GA.

2029 SS Tamiayh Ward went 2 for 2 with a homer, two runs and two RBIs, 2029 3B Kinslee Buck went 1 for 3 with a homer and three RBIs and 2029 P Madelyn Benzler went 2 for 4 with a double, a home run and ffour RBIs for LTG in the final.

Benzler (19.1 IP, 21 Ks 2.17 ERA, .462 AVG, 4 HRs, 15 RBIs), 2029 LHP Lauren Klomp (16.2 IP, 21 Ks, 2.50 ERA), 2029 P/1B/OF Sophia Santillan (11 IP, 13 Ks), Ward (.621 AVG, 4 HRs, 19 RBIs), Buck (.372 AVG, 1 HR, 6 BBs, 8 RBIs) and 2029 MIF/OF Reese Litherland (.476 AVG, 1 HR) were the leaders for LTG.

2029 C/3B Ella Osborne (.480, 8 RBIs), Benzler and Ward were named co-MVPs of the tournament.

“Winning this tournaments means a lot,” LTG coach Amanda Buck said. “Not only does it give us a chance to play in front of a lot colleges we don’t normally see in California, it gives us a chance to represent our org and our girls on a national stage. Traveling so far to play against some of the best teams in the country was a huge honor for us and to come out undefeated with the championship was something we have been working so hard for. We hope that our talent showed that this is one of the best teams in the nation.”

LTG 2029-Henderson/Buck defeated Southern Force National-Palmer, 17-2, Fusion National-Unruh/Herald, 9-4, Tampa Mustangs-Szabo, 9-1, and Tampa Mustangs Ohana, 13-5, in bracket games.

Tampa Mustangs Ohana beat LTG 2030-Buck, 12-0, Team NC-Taylor 6-2, EC Bullets National 2012-Perry, 10-5, and lost to LTG 2029-Henderson/Buck, 13-5, in bracket games.
