14U: USA PRIME NATIONAL-HALSTEAD 5, TAMPA MUSTANGS-OHANA 4

#8 USA Prime National-Halstead (previously Georgia Impact Premier-Cleghorn) defeated #32 Tampa Mustangs-Ohana, 5-4, in the 14U championship game of PGF Show Me The Money on Monday at Katie Seshole Pressly Stadium.

“This tournament victory was a true team effort,” USA Prime coach Jeff Halstead said. “We had eight players bat over .400 this tournament and 10 total home runs with six different players hitting home runs on the weekend. The pitchers had to battle this weekend as the 10-game schedule was a grind, but they stayed the course and made big pitches when they needed to in order to get the job done. This team continues to play for each other and keeps the focus on playing the game the right way by caring more about the success of the team over individual successes or accolades.”

USA Prime National defeated Santa Fe Inferno-Hooper, 7-2, Stars National-Roy, 10-3, Atlanta Elite Premier-Ogletree, 16-1, and Tampa Mustangs-Ohana, 5-4, in bracket games.

Tampa Mustangs-Ohana beat TN Mojo 2030/31-Raysor, 8-1, D1Vision Softball National, 12-3, #22 Birmingham Thunderbolts Premier 2030-Wilkerson, 9-5, #26 TB Mojo 2011-Brown, 4-3, and lost to USA Prime National, 5-4, in bracket games.
