Event Recap: 18U/16U/14U Champions Crowned at Scenic City Summer Top 25 (June 22, 2025)

Scenic City Summer Top 25 was held June 19-22 in Dalton/Rocky Face, GA (All rankings are Line Drive Hot 50 club national rankings):

18U: ATHLETICS GOLD TAMBORRA 8, TURNIN2-ROBESON/LONG 6

#40 Athletics Gold Tamborra held off Turnin2-Robeson/Long, 8-6, in the 18U championship game on Sunday at Heritage Point.

AGT’s offense was led by Mississippi State-committed 2026 SS/CF Genesis Satterfield (.526 AVG, 7 RBIs), Mercer-committed 2026 C/OF/UT Grace Welicky (.435 AVG, 9 RBIs), Oklahoma State-committed 2026 SS/UT Dawson Blue (.386 AVG, 2 HRs, 8 SBs, 8 RBIs) and Mercer-committed 2026 OF Alexis Evans (.353 AVG, 6 SBs).

The pitching staff had 55 Ks in over 49 innings, featuring Lipscomb-bound R/1B Brooke Beam, 2027 P/1B/3B Johanna Galvan, Auburn-committed 2026 P/SS Leah Byrd, uncommitted 2026 LHP Eve Roszkowski and 2027 RHP/1B Payton Tamborra. Galvan had 22 Ks in 14 innings, Beam had 16 IP and five starts and Byrd had 13 IP with 16 Ks. AGT’s infield came up with multiple big-time defensive plays.

“It really was impressive,” AGT coach Stacy Tamborra said of her team’s infield, “and SO fun to watch.”

AGT defeated Windermere Wildfire-Paulson, 8-0, EC Bullets National-Jackson/Matt, 14-2, Louisville Lady Sluggers-Wathen, 10-0, Tennessee Mojo 2025-Gregory, 4-2, and Turnin2-Robeson/Long, 8-6, in bracket games.

Turnin2-Robeson/Long defeated Southern Force National-Palmer, 12-8, Stars National-Coleman, 4-2, EC Bullets Gold-Schnute, 9-1, Heartbreakers Gold National, 9-4, and lost to AGT, 8-6, in bracket games.

16U: LOUISVILLE LADY SLUGGERS-HUECKER/NORWOOD 12, TAMPA MUSTANGS-FOWLER 2

#22 Louisville Lady Sluggers-Huecker/Norwood hit 27 home runs as a team for the weekend and took care of #33 Tampa Mustangs-Fowler, 12-2, in the 16U championship game on Sunday at Heritage Point.

Western Kentucky-committed RHP/1B Layla Ogden (.484 AVG, 11 HRs, 23 RBIs), 2027 3B/C Payton Dye (.500 AVG, 4 HRs, 11 RBIs), Miami-committed 2026 C/3B Kendall Brown (.423 AVG, 2 HRs, 3 doubles, 10 RBIs) and 2027 C/OF Adelle Metz (.417 AVG, 3 doubles, 3 HRs) were Lady Sluggers-Huecker/Norwood’s offensive leaders for the tournament.

2027 RHP Lucy George, Tennessee-committed 2026 LHP Maggie Krause, 2027 RHP Courtney Norwood and Ogden handled the pitching duties.

“We had another great weekend as a team,” Lady Sluggers coach Scott Norwood said. “Our bats were incredible and the pitching kept us in every game. This win was definitely a momentum builder before heading out to Colorado.”

Lady Sluggers-Huecker/Norwood defeated Fury Platinum National-Belk, 9-0, Atlanta Vipers Gold 09-Crenshaw, 7-5, Fury Platinum X-Hutchins, 10-6, Team NC-Bowman, 10-3, and Tampa Mustangs-Fowler, 12-2, in bracket games.

Tampa Mustangs-Fowler defeated Aces Fastpitch Premier, 10-1, Turnin2-Pezz, 4-0, Fury Premier 2027-Robinson, 6-3, United-Albert, 3-2, Top Gun National-Sciara, 7-6, and lost to Lady Sluggers-Huecker/Norwood, 12-2, in bracket games.

14U: UNITY-SCHULTHEIS/JOHNSON 0, UNITY 2028-ATTARD/HAGEN 0

#48 Unity-Schultheis/Johnson and Unity 2028-Attard/Hagen 0 both decided not to play the 14U championship game and finished as co-champions on Sunday at Heritage Point.

2029 RHP/OF/1B Madalynne Jones (.500 AVG, 1 double, 1 HR/12 IP, 1.75 ERA, 0.667 WHIP), 2028 RHP/UT Kabella Corning (.667 AVG, .692 OBP), 2028 RHP/1B Miley McCallum (.400 AVG), 2028 LHP/OF Kacie Riggan (12 IP, 2.33 ERA) and 2029 MIF/UT Ava Kessler (.375 AVG, .500 OBP) were the leaders for Unity-Schultheis/Johnson.

“This was a great resume-building win and it was against great competition and organizations,” Unity coach Sean Schultheis said. “It challenged our girls and really brought out their grit and determination. They had to find the way to believe in themselves and each other to get it done.”

Offensively, Unity 2028-Attard/Hagren kept the bats hot all weekend with a team batting average was just under .400. They had 66 hits, 18 extra-base hits, including 7 home runs. 2028 CF Avery Munson (.600 AVG) and 2028 RHP/SS Payton Piercy (26 IP, 33 Ks, 8 ERs) were some of Unity-Attard/Hagren’s standouts.

Unity-Schultheis/Johnson defeated Fury Platinum National-McCallum, 8-1, Indiana Magic Gold-Langlois/DePaulis, 4-3, and United-Albert, 10-2, in bracket games.

Unity 2028-Attard/Hagen defeated Athletics Gold-Tamborra-Vallery, 8-0, Fury Platinum X-Higdon/Huckabay, 7-4, and Iowa Premier-Dickel/Paz, 8-6, in bracket games.
