Jaiden Stell of Arizona Rising 14U - Kobasew hit four home runs and shined with her glove all weekend at the recent Clearwater Fall Classic.

Event News: The Clearwater Fall Classic 14U All-Tournament Team (Nov. 23, 2024)

Last weekend, Nov. 15-17, 2024, one of the top club events of the year was held in the Tampa, Fla. area as the Clearwater Fall Classic featured top teams and players in the age divisions of 14U, 16U and 18U.

Today is the first of our 3-part series honoring those who had a great weekend of action and are being recognized as a member of the Clearwater Fall Classic All-Tournament Team.

Up first, the 14’s today with the 16’s being announced tomorrow, (Sunday, Nov. 24) and the 18’s on Tuesday (Nov. 26).

2024 Clearwater Fall Classic 14U MVP:

14U MVP Rylee Kobasew led her Arizona Rising 14U team to a 6-0 win in the title game.
Rylee Kobasew, P/IF, AZ Rising – Kobasew

The daughter of Head Coach Chuck Kobasew, Rylee impressed as a two-way standout who led her team to the 14U title in Clearwater (note: the 16’s and 18’s just played a showcase format).

The 2028 grad batted .526 at the plate with six extra base hits and was untouchable in the finale, a 6-0 win over a good Clearwater Bullets 14U – Schultheis team, as she tossed a complete game four-hitter and also blasted a two-run home run in the 6th inning to put the game out of reach.

All-Tournament Team

* Frankie Arnold, OF, Rhode Island Thunder – Lotti/Arnold
Frankie was the leadoff hitter for Coach Luke Arnold’s squad and let the Thunder in plate appearances (13), total hits (5) and RBIs (3) including a key two-run double in a big game versus the Batbusters – Stith No. 1 team.

* Chloe Bennett, C/UT, Ohio Outlaws National – Homan
Chloe led her 14U team with six hits, batting .500 for the weekend with four singles and a pair of doubles.

* McKenna Bennett, OF, Strykers Gold – Esparza
McKenna is a 5-foot-9 lefty power hitter who batted .500 at the Clearwater Fall Classic with seven hits in 14 at-bats and impressed with her speed.

* Keira Bertoglio, P, Virginia Unity – Attard/Hagen
Keira was a dominant pitcher all weekend, commanding the strike zone with a percentage of 73% with 13 strikeouts in 16 innings.

* Lila Coria, P/UT, Strykers Gold – Esparza
Lila batted .426 for her team with a .500 on-base percentage and OPS of 1.038. In the circle, she pitched 16 innings with 12 K’s and limited opponents to a .217 batting mark against and a 1.75 ERA

* Hanna Craighead, OF, Strykers Gold – Esparza
Hanna provided a spark for the Strykers, hitting from the 7-hole where she had four RBIs, four runs scored and had a hand in 1/3rd of her team’s offensive output. Defensively, she made nine of 10 grabs in centerfielder and three out a runner at home to end one game.

Hanna Craighead of Strykers National Gold 14U – Esparza.

* Abbey Crockett, MIF, Birmingham Thunderbolts – Brashears
Abbey was one of the offensive stars for the Bolts younger team as she batted .517 in 14 at-bats with a .625 on-base percentage and an OPS of 1.339.

* Ella Fleming, C, Clearwater Bullets – Schultheis
Ella, a big and impressive backstop, batted .500 with a home run and a pair of doubles. Opposing coaches praised her as one of the best catchers their teams faced.

* Ashlyn Glessman, IF, Virginia Unity – Attard/Hagen
Ashlyn batted .556 on the weekend with hits in all six games her team played. She had a big game against the Thunderbolts, knocking in the go-ahead run and finished the game with a double play from first base.

* Ari Harley, OF, Athletics Gold – Tamborra/Vallery
Ari, an explosive 2028 outfielder “with next level speed” according to Coach Dickie Vallery, hit .500 in the tournament with four RBIs and an OPS of 1.431.

* Ava Kessler, IF, Clearwater Bullets – Schultheis
Ava drove in a team-best seven runs—all with two outs—and hit a sharp .500 with runners in scoring position.

* Ameliana Mendez, OF, AZ Rising – Kobasew
The 2029 leadoff hitter has been in the No. 1 spot in the lineup for the last four years and showed why in Florida, batting a sizzling .739 with 17 hits.

* Kali Minteer, C/UT, Strykers Gold – Esparza
A versatile 2028 athlete, Kali showed her lock down defensively skills thanks to a powerful arm and great glovework as she had an OPS of .762 and a perfect fielding percentage of 1.000 with 20 putouts in 26 innings caught. She also threw out three and picked off one.

* Aevea Moseley- Franklin, OF/C, Athletics Gold – Tamborra/Vallery
Aeva, a 2029 standout outfielder with impressive speed, stole four bases in the Clearwater Fall Classic while batting .500 with a 1.181 OPS.

* Ella Oswalt, P/1B, Ohio Outlaws National – Homan
Ella, according to Head Coach Mike Homan: “stepped up big time in the circle” as she only allowed six errors in her 17.1 innings pitched.

* Ellie Nguyen, IF, Athletics Gold – Tamborra/Vallery
Ellie, a 2028 middle infielder, batted .429 on the weekend and drove in three runs while compiling an OPS of .900.

* Kam Piercy, IF, Virginia Unity – Attard/Hagen
Kam had “a big bat all weekend,” per Coach Adam Attard as she hit .467 with three extra base hits. Defensively, she was flawless at second base with a perfect fielding percentage.

* Reagan Schenzer, C, Rhode Island Thunder – Lotti/Arnold
Reagan impressed in every game with her defensive skills, including how she “controlled the game and the runners behind the plate,” per Coach Luke Arnold, who added: “Reagan is an absolute stud behind the plate.”

*  Jaiden Stell, 1B/C, AZ Rising – Kobasew
An outstanding power hitter and defensive infielder, Jaiden batted .500 on the weekend with four home runs and an on-base percentage of .696.

* Savannah Toukatly, P/OF, Birmingham Thunderbolts – Brashears
Savannah shined with her arm and bat as she hit .500 (7-for-14) with a .562 on-base percentage and a 1.134 OPS.

* Taylor Tucker, P/SS, Clearwater Bullets – Schultheis
Taylor pitched consistently in the low 60’s at the Clearwater Fall Classic competing agiunst some of the top players her age. An elite 2028 player, she also hit a home run in the 14U quarters.
