Event News: PGF Premier Nationals berths Earned At Arizona, Las Vegas PGF Qualifiers (May 26, 2024)

The PGF AZ 18U & 14U National Qualifier was held May 25-26 in Mesa, AZ (Line Drive Hot 50 Club National Rankings):

#44 Corona Angels-Howard went undefeated in four games, beating Arizona Hotshots-Delsante/Carroll, 7-1, in the 18U final of the PGF AZ 18U & 14U National Qualifier on Sunday at Arizona Athletic Grounds. Corona Angels-Howard earned an 18U PGF Premier National berth with the victory.

UTEP-committed 2025 P/1B Alyssa Galindo (19.1 IP, 1 ER, 12 Ks, 0.36 ERA) was the winning pitcher in all four games, Dartmouth-bound C Marilyn Beauvais (.571 AVG, 1.288 SLG, 1 HR, 2 doubles) threw out three runners and picked of another, Boise State-committed 2025 OF Tamryn Shorter (.400 AVG, .455 OBP, .800 SLG, 1 HR, 2 doubles, 6 runs, 2 SBs) was the Offensive MVP, and San Diego-bound MIF Sophia Pineda (.375 AVG, 2 RBIs) was the Defensive MVO to lead Corona Angels-Howard.

Rogue FC-Kaye beat Arizona Hotshots-Delsante/Carroll, 7-0, in the loser’s bracket final to earn an 18U PGF Premier Nationals berth. Arizona Hotshots-Delsante/Carroll received an 18U PGF Platinum Nationals berth.

Athletics Mercado-Baca 2010 knocked off Arizona Hotshots-Petersen/Udall, 9-1, in a 14U bracket final to earn a 14U PGF Premier Nationals on Sunday at Arizona Athletic Grounds.

2028 SS/3B/P Kiara Rabaya (.563 AVG), 2028 1B Brooklyn Campbell (.500 AVG), 2029 OF Kylie Simon (.500 AVG), 2029 2B/OF Charlotte Baca (.600 AVG), 2028 OF Bella Ferris (.455 AVG, 1 OTF HR) and 2028 P/1B/3B Rose Arias (1.74 ERA) led Athletics Mercado-Baca for the tournament.

Ohana Tigers OC-Longo defeated Lil Saints Gold, 6-0, in the other winner’s bracket final to earn a 14U PGF Premier Nationals berth.

Arizona Hotshots-Petersen/Udall beat Athletics Mercado-Balesteri, 7-0, in a 14U loser’s bracket final to earn a 14U PGF Premier Nationals berth. Athletics Mercado-Balesteri received a 14U PGF Platinum Nationals berth.

Lil Saints Gold and California Thunder-LeVier/Milton finished as co-champs in the other 14U loser’s bracket final.
