Event News: Day 3 Features 18U/16U Super Regionals at AFCS (July 23, 2025)

AFCS is being held July 20-27 in Kokomo, IN (All rankings are Line Drive Hot 50 Club Nationals Rankings):

18U Super Regionals:

#39 Louisville Lady Sluggers-Wathen 3, #6 Aces Fastpitch Club 2: Uncommitted 2026 MIF/C/UT Kinleigh Russell went 2 for 3 with a game-tying triple in the bottom of the 7th inning and Coastal Carolina-bound SS/3B Sara Zink had the walk-off hit to win it for the Lady Sluggers. Northern Kentucky-bound LHP Abigail Byrd allowed two hits in five innings for the Lady Sluggers.

#39 Louisville Lady Sluggers-Wathen 6, Glory Adkins Gold 5: Missouri-committed 2026 Hailey Borders went 3 for 5, Missouri-bound MIF Avery Adcock went 2 for 5 and drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 7th inning, Coastal Carolina-bound SS/3B Sara Zink went 2 for 3 with three RBIs and Anderson-bound LHP Kora Kilgore allowed one hit and struck out three in 4.1 innings for the Lady Sluggers.

#12 Iowa Premier National-Dickel/James 7, EC Bullets Gold-Bagarose/Schnute 1: Nebraska Omaha-bound OF/P Hailey Boltz had a two-run single in the 7th inning, 2027 C/3B Julianna “Goose” Hutchens, #2 in the 2027 Line Drive Hot 100, went 2 or 3 with a homer and Mississippi State-bound P/3B Brinkley Moreton, #16 in the 2025 Line Drive Hot 100, pitched a complete game to lift Iowa Premier National.

#12 Iowa Premier National-Dickel/James 6, #23 Oklahoma Athletics National-Madden 5: Brinkley Moreton pitched a complete game to lead Iowa Premier National to the victory.

#2 OC Batbusters-Stith 2, Unity-Slezak 0: Arkansas-bound RHP Saylor Timmerman, #7 in the 2025 Line Drive Hot 100, and uncommitted 2026 RHP Liliana Escobar, #17 in the 2026 Line Drive Hot 100, combined for the shutout win and a first-inning home run and an RBI single in the 7th inning by 2027 3B/C Riley Hilliard gave the Batbusters enough offense to get the Super Regional win.

#38 Epic National-Smith 7, #45 Tampa Mustangs-Rene 6: North Texas-committed 2026 RHP Hayden Mowrey, #94 in the 2026 Line Drive Hot 100, got the win in the opener, going three strong innings, allowing three hits before 2027 RHP Izzy Lee came in to close the final four innings or Epic National. Tulsa-committed 2026 OF Taylyn Starr and North Texas-bound IF/UT Eva Daniels led the charge at the plate with two hits apiece.

#38 Epic National-Smith 6, Elite Chicago National 0: Tulsa-bound RHP Makenzie Freeman earned the win, going 4.1 innings while allowing zero runs and only two hits in the 5-inning run-rule game. Texas-bound IF Jaycie Nichols, #7 in the 2025 Line Drive Hot 100, went 3 or 3 at the plate and Wichita State-committed 2026 UT/OF Jess Shuman had two RBIs or Epic National.

Texas Glory 10, Unity-Torres 2: 2027 MIF/3B/OF/UT Hope Guadio hit a grand slam, Ole Miss-committed 2026 OF Addison Bicknell, #88 in the 2026 Line Drive Hot 100, went 2 for 2 with two runs, an RBI and an SB, 2027 MIF/OF/UT Finlee Williams, #9 in the 2027 Line Drive Hot 100, went 2 for 2 and Texas-committed 2026 RHP Madi Doty got the win to lift Texas Glory.

#22 Firecrackers Select-Rico/Brashear 6, Indiana Magic Gold-Green 5: Boise State-bound LHP Loula-Rae McNamara pitched 6.2 innings for the win and Boise State-bound RHP Charley Duran picked up the save, Utah-bound OF/1B Mia Gomez went 2 for 2 with two walks, uncommitted 2025 RHP/MIF/CF Aliyah “Lele” Garcia had a two-run triple and 2027 MIF Sadie Burroughs had a two-run double or the Firecrackers.

#22 Firecrackers Select-Rico/Brashear 1, Corona Angels-Tyson 0: Boise State-bound RHP Charley Duran threw a 9-inning shutout and uncommitted 2026 MIF/OF Kamryn Aoki delivered a one-out, walk-off hit for the game-winner in the bottom of the 9th inning to lift the Firecrackers.

#34 Warrior Academy-McDoanld 5, #47 Unity-Torres/McHale 3: 2028 CF Star Gutierrez had a two-run single in the bottom of the 3rd inning, 2026 OF Mia DeMartini, who went 2 for 2, had an RBI single in the bottom of the 4th inning following a two-out double by 2028 OF Mads Sekera, who went 2 or 3 with two runs, 2028 1B AJ Tatum had a walk-off two-run HR in the bottom of the 7th inning to lead Warrior Academy. 2027 RHP Lila McLeod pitched seven innings, allowing one earned run and gave up three hits for Warrior Academy.

Warrior Academy-McDonald 4, #46 Empire State Huskies National-Porcelli 3: 2026 3B Skylar Loo had the go-ahead single in the bottom of the 6th inning and 2027 RHP Lila McLeod pitched 2.2 innings of scoreless relief with 3 Ks to lead Warrior Academy.

#22 Louisville Lady Sluggers-Huecker/Norwood 7, #29 Firecrackers Select-RTY 1: 2027 RHP Lucy George, #9 in the 2027 Line Drive Hot 100, allowed two hits, one run and struck out eight to lead the Lady Sluggers.

#22 Louisville Lady Sluggers-Huecker/Norwood 7, Unity 2027-TJ 2: Tennessee-committed 2026 LHP Maggie Krause, #7 in the 2026 Line Drive Hot 100, allowed two runs and struck out six in six innings and George had three strikeouts in one inning to lift the Lady Sluggers.

Kentucky-committed 2026 OF/UT Brynley Erb, #8 in the 2026 Line Drive Hot 100, had five hits, two home runs and six RBIs in the two games for the Lady Sluggers.

#4 Texas Bombers Gold-Serie 2, Oklahoma Athletics National 26/27-Madden/Brown 1: 2028 C Ryann Harris, #8 in the 2028 Line Drive Hot 100, delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the 6th inning to help the Bombers defeat the Athletics.

#4 Texas Bombers Gold-Serie 6, Indiana Magic Gold-Moore 5: 2027 IF Amarie “Shug” Bradford, #6 in the 2027 Line Drive Hot 100, had a three-run, inside-the-park home run in the bottom of the 6th inning as the Bombers rallied past IMG.

#5 Texas Glory 11, #27 Tampa Mustangs Rene-Pynes 10: 2027 SS Evelyn Swartzlander went 3 for 3 with a double, a triple and three runs and 2027 C Daphne Palumbo had a pinch-hit grand slam to pace Texas Glory.

Gators Premier-Lloyd/Meyer 4, #25 Impact Gold-Jazz 3: 2027 P/OF Piper Phillips and Western Michigan-committed 1BP/UT Kiley Renick combined on the victory as Gators Premier upset Impact Gold-Jazz.

Gators Premier-Lloyd/Meyer 7, #30 Aces Fastpitch 6: 2027 P/OF Piper Phillips got another win in the circle and 2026 1B/OF Sara Miller had a bases-loaded double to lift Gators Premier.

Ohio Outlaws National-Wolff/Leggins 5, United-Albert 3:

Ohio Outlaws National-Wolff/Leggins 1, Epic National-Smith 0: 2027 OF Brooklyn Capella went 4 for 5 with two runs and eight putouts on the day to lead the Ohio Outlaws to two victories.

Fury Platinum X-Hutchins 7, Fury Platinum X-Pickett 0: Western Kentucky-committed 2026 RHP Kaylor West allowed three hits and struck out six in five scoreless inning to lead Fury Platinum X-Hutchins.

Fury Platinum X-Hutchins 10, Impact Gold-Vaughn/Jazz 4: 2027 RHP Aireis “Bita” Cox pitched a complete game to beat Impact Gold.

2026 2B/OF Ruby Collins had three hits, 2026 OF/IF Lindsey Tylec had three hits and 2027 OF/C Layna Ayala had three hits, an HR and four RBIs to lead the Fury Platinum X offense in the two games.

“This team has been out on the field every weekend from June 6th to July 7th, working hard, competing and finding ways to get better each time as they head into the final tournament of the year,” Fury Platinum X coach Averie Waddell said.

Team NC-Bowman 3, Midwest Speed National-Wagner 2: 2027 RH/1B Kaylee Hodges, #7 in the 2027 Line Drive Hot 100, was on record as the winner of both games and recorded a .600 batting average with a home run for Team NC-Bowman.

Team NC-Bowman 7, #9 Corona Angels-Slye 6: 2027 MIF/OF Blakely Bowman, #50 in the 2027 Line Drive Hot 100, and 2027 C/SS Lauren Chesney, #12 in the 2027 Line Drive Hot 100, paced Team NC Bowman, hitting .500 with multiple hits in both games.

Indiana Magic Gold-Moore, Oklahoma Athletics National 26/27-Madden/Brown, Unity 2027-TJ, Buzz Gold, Aces Fastpitch, Impact Gold-Jazz, Tampa Mustangs Rene-Pynes, Empire State Huskies National-Porcelli, Epic National-Smith, United-Albert, Impact Gold-Vaughn/Jazz, Fury Platinum X-Pickett, Corona Angels-Slye and Midwest Speed National-Wagner are still alive in the Super Regionals loser’s brackets.
